that's exactly the point, why I think a Boxer is the best in the world, when it comes down who would win in any kind of fight...boxing street or octagon...I mean, look at Lidell, he barely never took down, or did leg kicks and won by ko vs mma legends like Silva; Couture, Ortiz. Especiallly Couture, who is know for his well rounded mma skills. I can't understand why shouldn't rat a world class cruiserweight who weighs in at the same Lidell etc 93 kg should lose. David Haye isn't a great Boxer, Lidell isn't a great Boxer too, but both can punch and ko anybody. David Haye is stronger, taller and punches harder than Lidell, plus Haye is no world class cruiserweight...Juan Carlos Gomez or Holyfield weighin 93 kg would beat any
Silva, Jackson, Couture, Ortiz, Arona, period.bigger, stronger, much harder and accurate punches.

BewareofDawg, no disrespect, but Foreman breaks Fedor down, believe me.
Foreman is no hong man Choi, Foreman can move and throw the hardest punches the world has seen, if one land, its over.

Boxers aren't even the best strikers in the world. I love boxing, but it is the most limited aspect of combat sports that there is.

Tell me how Floyd Mayweather is going to shoulder roll against this....

Floyd would be murdered in an all around striking match against these guys.

How is one mma fighter beating the **** out of another mma fighter a basis of an arguement about a boxer vs an mma fighter?

its not an "what if" its nearly a certainty with a boxer with no experience is getting taken down.

I'll give you a serious answer to this. Can Foreman knock out Fedor? Hell Yes!!!! Is there a chance that if a Prime Foreman fought a Prime Fedor under MMA rules that Foreman would win? Yes. But it is very slim. You see Foreman would have to catch Fedor while he was coming in. If you have ever been shot on or rushed at, you will realize or should realize how hard it is and the margin of error you have to actually land that shot. And then even if you do land it you have to land it in the right place. Catching Fedor on the button or back of head or temple would most likely KO him for sure, especially if he is rushing in. But if he misses and gets him in the forehead, or eye or top of head or even just grazes him now Fedor has either a hold of his leg or has him in a clinch and then Foreman is going for a ride and will be submitted in a matter of seconds or Ground and Pounded out. Honestly I say if they fight 10 times Foreman might have a chance of winning 1 of them, but I doubt it.

And whats your take on 86' Mike Tyson, you know that MMA bouts are 3 rounds, you also know what Tyson did back then consistantly over the first 2-3 rounds:yepOOHhhh I guess I made a pretty good point. Don't get me wrong, I love MMA, I love Fedor and yes Fedor is the greatest, but I see so many MMA-Legends who won big fights(many big fights) just because of punching power (you can call them Boxer, because they always throw punches)...like Lidell or like Wanderlei (even threw he is a great Jiu Jiutsu fighter), but most bouts he won with his punching power, same with Dan Handerson. So, thats why, because a Boxer trains his punches more, I think a Boxer throw harder, more accurate and faster punches, the reason why I put them higher. And come on, how do you catch, or put a prime Roy Jones on his back or beast iron chinned like a 86' Tyson?

peace, I make a break, my finger hurts from writing...

man this debate is stupid its like comparing american football with cricket. The only thing the sports have in common is the aim is to knock the opponent unconcious or beat them on points.

This type of thread again? Silva's footwork would get laughed at in a boxing ring, it only looks good because he's fighting a limmited fighter in Leben. There are rare few, that have decent boxing skills, we all seen what happend to Liddel when he couldnt see a punch that was more loaded than Bill Gates bank account, any decent boxer would of seen that punch coming a mile away, Rampage would of been easily countered and knocked out infront of our very eyes.

um i think guarding against a take down is much easier to learn how to defend..then moving your head out of the way of punches.....hmm IDK:huh
