You're forgetting something. Lesnar actually wanted to go back to the WWE, the reason he left is because he wanted a career in NFL and he failed miserably there and the WWE rejected him. Guess who's doors was wide open for main event spots?

However I don't think Toney or Mercer would beat Fedor in an MMA match do you?

Well, because Toney has punching that means he can automatically KO someone? Noone realizes how easy ducking is.

Not at the same time, of course. But I have no doubt whatsoever that if Fedor were to fight both guys back to back, i.e. a 1 minute break in between fights as per rounds, that he would beat both guys in under 4 minutes combined.

I would bet the house that Fedor would beat every current HW belt-holder back to back in the same night under MMA rules. It'd be little different than a BJJ master doing back to back to back rolling sessions against first timers.

The one thing I would dissagree with this post is that a boxer would find comfort rolling on the ground if he got tired during an MMA fight. I would think that's the last place a boxer would want to be against an experienced MMA fighter with ground and pound skills. That just plays right into the strength of the opponents advantage IMO.

And a boxer who will go to MMA will have training sessions based on MMA's fighting styles and rules so surely he will be prepared to go there when he has to.

I think James feels he deserves a certian amount of money to fight top guys. Tony isn't a big name but one of the top HW's out there....top 10. So James feels he deserves not only a bigger slice of the pie but a 6 figure payday based on his name, career and ATG status. James is a living legend and I do understand him being firm on his money given that he's older now and he's looking for meaningful fights w/the money to boot so he can retire comfortably. But I see your point.....if I were Toney....I'd beat the **** out of Thompson and do it in dominating fashion and get the publics attention along with the rest of the HW divison. So I agree with you on that.
