The whole MMA explosion of the last decade has largely past me by. Except for maybe the first couple of UFC events and a few badly organised events from Russia in the 90s I'm a blank sheet. If you were to recommend one round that epitomises the best of everything MMA has to offer, it's greatest round which would it be? Does it have a Hagler Hearns 1, a Corrales Castillo 10, a Sithchatchawal v Monshipour 10, a Gatti Ward 9 or anything like the many "hair standing on the back of your neck rounds" like Barrera v Morales gave us?
I agree with Daley/Diaz. Both rounds of Hominick/Jabouin are insane, too. That's probably my all time favorite fight. A two round war. This one doesn't encompass everything MMA has to offer, but it is a great fight to show to people that are iffy about the ground game. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBe0k4_T9bQ[/ame]
Somewhat lesser known guys, but the first round of this fight is a war. The second round has one of the nicest standing elbows you will in MMA. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5n_CyjSORWo[/ame]
Did this **** take place in the first round? [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G90YcgwAZTM"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G90YcgwAZTM[/ame]
PRIDE 25. The first time Big Nog and Fedor fought. Was ****ing insane. Some of the most brutal GnP in the history of the heavyweight division. Bas and the Fight Professor were going nuts like children for the entire 3 rounds. And Igor vs Inoue. That fight was sooo F'in brutal it would make you wince. Both men wailed on each other for 10 minutes. Except Inoue was left with a swollen brain in hospital for 3 months and couldn't even walk by the end of the fight. Honourable mention has to be Shogun Henderson as well in recent memory. Dam shame that fight never happened in PRIDE.
