Moderation of the Classic Forum

Hello.

I'm moderating on ESB again, but this time it's just the Classic forum. It's been bad lately and i've read a lot of complaints on the forum, and bizarrely i've had a lot of complaints sent to me by private message along with a request that I "do something". So we can all agree there are plenty of trolls and that that's unpleasant. Now i'm moderating, I just wanted to open a thread to lay down some ground rules and explanations, but I also hope this thread becomes somewhere where people can make moderating requests and air grievances.

1 - Nothing is going to happen retrospectively. If there is a problem from before this date, I don't want to hear about it and you should try to forget about it. This is for issues going forwards

2 - I have a job and a life - i'm not on all the time, but i'm on a lot, so be patient.

3 - Nobody I have fallen out with on the forum or that I personally believe should be removed but that feeling is not shared by the forum at large, should be worried. So although i think choklab is a waste of space, he doesn't need to worry. Similarly, i've argued with Mongoose a lot recently, but he contributes, so he's fine.

4 - You can still use the report button and reach the other Moderators, and sometimes that will be best, but in matters that relate to this forum only, feel free to PM me. But don't throw your toys out of the pram if i don't agree, there's nothing infallible about this system or about myself, and I have my own point of view.

5 - I'm not stickying this thread so if you feel you might want it, bookmark it. Alternatively, you can search for it when you need it, or find it by clicking on my user name.
