Luis Resto - Billy Collins. Even without knowing about Resto's gloves, Billy's corner should have wondered what the hell was happening to his face.

Yes. often these tragedies seem to happen when there is a family member in the corner

That actually the best performance by Jones post getting KO'd by Tarver. He looks so quick and surprisingly able to throw so many powerfull combinations instead of just posturing. I feel bad for Lacy just from that 2 fights alone. I think he has a brain damaged now.

I know the corner stopped a couple of these but it was way too late

Mercer v morrison always sticks out in my mind. Mercer pummelled Tommy out against the ropes whilst the ref picked some thing outa his teeth . the corner had time to jump in, the ref been that slow.

Tony Perez i believe..he used to let guys get beat nearly half to death befor he jumped in. Blame the corner too though.
WTF was Kostya Tszyu thinking when Lebedevs eye hematoma was nearly as big as half his head!!! Or the ref and Doc for that matter.

Yes that s perez. Totally unwilling to jump in until a fighter s almost unconscious.

I'm pretty sure Golota was sent out against Tyson with a fractured cheek, hernia in neck, and concussion. Al Certo wasnt exactly a class act when Golota quit.

They didnt know about his Injuries at that time, they thought he just didnt want to go out to get hit by Tyson again. Which in itself is a valid wexcuse for anyone except a top Professional HW boxer

I disagree on the first fight although Bowe was losing it was somewhat competitve and a very major hw fight. I totally agree on the second fight sometime around round 7-8 Bowe's corner should of stopped it. He took a savage beating and it ended his career and ruined his quality of life.

    Early 60's fight note:
WW Champion Bennie "Kid" Peret vs MW champ Gene Fullmer. (Fullmer in later years said "The Ref just let me keep beating on the guy" or something to that effect). 4 months later Peret's management threw him in with Emile Griffith once more....and we all know what happened there.

Collins told his Trainer Dad that "he could feel Resto's fists coming thru his gloves".
