For historians of the early days, I thought you'd find this interesting. Unlike a lot of the gypsy fighters online, at least one of these fighters is pretty good by professional standards. Bobby Gunn in a recent challenge for his "belt":

    John L Sullivan KO1.

That was about as primitive as it gets for LPR rules. There is no getting around the fact that the skills have devolved.

    Some points/questions.

They broke on the clinch? was this a part of LPR rules?

They forgot the 30 second scratch rule.

That was Gunn KO2. Is this correct?

It is interesting to note that Gunn started to drop his hands after a while and improved at this point. Tactics or tiredness?

condition of these guys seemed to really struggle after a while.

Not a single throw, shows just how primitive they were. neither did anything at all in the clinch.

Notice how the punches become more inaccurate when the gloves come off. Easier to slip or simply walk away from.

On the other hand, Gunn surprised me with his ability to repeatedly block bareknuckle shots on his palm.
