Brewster was in four all time classics in this period.

    This, Meehan, Krasniqi, and Liakhovik.

In all these fights, Brewster banked on his ability to absorb flush punishment and overwhelm his opponents with heavy bombs, but got messed up pretty bad and burned out quickly as a result of this reckless style.

Effective while he held up but not the smartest career path. Real shame. This fight was his breakout and best performance but also the beginning of the end. He was already showing signs of wear and tear in his next fight against Meehan, where he would also suffer a broken jaw. Things would get worse from there.

I would put him on the level with Tommy Farr, another fearless guy who had a great brief run of wars before going out in flames.

    Great post.

I actually think Brewsters short World Title run from Wladimir Klitschko, Kali Meehan, Andrew Golota, Luan Krasniqi and Siarhei Liakhovich had provided far more excitement and entertainment then all of Wlads World Title run from 2007 onwards.

Brewster will not go down as a Great Heavyweight Champion but i'll always rememeber him as the last truly all action fun to watch one. Hopefully another Heavyweight will soon become Champion and provide equally entertaining fights.
