I guess I'm stating the obvious, but with the internet and everything (and me browsing everyday at work), I hear so many people looking for reasons to discredit and criticize fighters. It makes me wonder how fighters of the past would have been looked upon had the internet been around there with message boards.

For instance, fighters like Bernard Hopkins and Oscar De La Hoya getting so discredited for fighting smaller guys moving up in weight. Even some discrediting Floyd Mayweather for fighting Ricky Hatton. Makes me wonder how a guy like Rocky Graziano would have been perceived at the time. Or what people would have said about Salvador Sanchez for showing so little interest in fighting Eusebio Pedroza. Or Larry Holmes for never unifying, defending against relatively green fighters, and not rematching those who gave him really tough fights or almost KO'd him like Mike Weaver, Ken Norton, Tim Witherspoon, etc...I hear people knocking Ricky Hatton for having a rough night against Luis Collazo, despite the fact that he moved up in weight and still eked out a razor-thin victory over a top 10 (maybe top 5 at the time) welterweight.

I don't know exactly what the point of my codeine-influenced (there are some good sides to having the flu) is, I guess I'm saying to try to not nitpick fighters and give credit when it's due and try to be fair and not hold fighters of the past (or the present for that matter if you do so) on an unnecessarily high pedestal.

Have you noticed that Floyd has robust brow ridges? Not as pronounced as Bika's or Valuev's but I just noticed it on 24/7.

There is abundant evidence that it is a fight adaptation. Probably a phenotypic expression brought on by the beating that Floyd SR took from SRL.

Thanks. No robust brow ridges but I could not resist the comparison to the catscan/digital remodeling of this little Neanderthal

I'd like to compare boxers x-rays and catscans over the last fifty years or more.
