Fighters of the past years who maintained what often made boxing great decades ago.

Fighting often, fighting anywhere, and fighting hard each and every time out.

    I'm a personal fan of Buck Smith. Had a record of 179 (120) - 19.

Fought all the way from JWW to CW.

225 fights in a 20 year career, more then once fighting multiple times on the same day. Smith was known for fighting under different names/aliases as well, so he more then likely has quite a few more fights then that.

2 some odd years into his career or so he went over to the UK as a sacrifical lamb for Kirkland Laing, who was in the process of getting his career back on track. The fight took place immediantly after Laing's demo-job on the 35-1 George Collin's, one of Laing's best wins/performances.

Laing clearly takes the first 6 and a half rounds, but Buck stuck with it... Then he just about touches the canvas winding up a hook and sparks Laing out cold.

    Loved it.

    Who've you got?

How about Rob Calloway, who fought 8 times in 2008 alone though he's quickly coming to the end of his career?

    Current record of 70 (56) 9 with 2 draws.

Started as a LHW but filled out into a respectable cruiser.

Massively ballsy guy. Continued fighting against Audley Harrison with a broken jaw. Kicked the ever loving **** out of the 7'1 Julius Long who had over 60 pounds on him.

I was at the RAH when Smith kod Laing it really astonished everyone. Smith usually lost to the top boys ,but he was a real "have gloves will travel "type.

Wow, seriously? Wish I could have been there for that one.

What was the crowds response? Was it a collective "Jesus christ Laing's ****ed up again" sigh of dissapointment?

Buck was brought in to make Laing shine ,and early on it looked that was the way it would go,I dont think anyone gave the journeyman a chance, I know I didnt.

Surely Augustus counts? Although his style is very modern (well, hip-hop dancing mixed with drunken master mixed with pot-shotting, then back to boxing, then infighting, then back to the dancing)

But he will pretty much fight anyone, has fought champions and prospects alike, oft-robbed bu Judges, but remains a fan favourite for his will and skill :good

Terrible on the eyes but the man is over 7 feet tall and weighs 260 pounds if not more at times... And he can punch.
