The guys who came to my mind are Mike McCallum, Lomachenko, Chocolatito and Chavez.

Fighters who have a penchant to start slow and ramp up later on, or guys who break fighters down, would thrive under 15 IMO.

I agree with all but McCallum. McCallum sometimes appeared winded to me and breathing out of his mouth.

Yeah, I know that. I'm asking why he posted that in this thread, Larry primarily fought in the 15 round era.

Take Larry Holmes and stick him in literally any era in of boxing through out human history and he's still a champion. 90% of modern guys would get outgrappled and dumped on their heads back in the day. Larry with his wrestling experience could play that game too unlike most modern fighters. Reread the title. I'm dumb NVM.

Holmes was fabulous, but he fought in the 15 round era. I think the point of the question was to figure what fighters in the 12 round era could have benefited from an extra 3 rounds.

Yeah but why mention him here? He fought in the 15 round era for most of his prime.

I think I work with a different definition of modern than most.

Modern to me is "gloved boxing". I did some selective reading after the word modern it appears.

I don't remember that, but I do feel like his body punching pressure and tendancy to thrive in the 8-12 round-region wouid mean he pulls along further in the final three rounds.

He looked okay after the breakneck pace of the first Toney fight.

I think he'd lose some close decisions.

That’s true. I’m sure he would have.
