Who would win between Roy Jones Jr. vs Sugar Ray Robinson in a middle weight fight? Why and Vote!

Interesting. Jones is green at MW and Sugar is one of the most complete fighters ever by this time.

On the other hand Jones outstrips Sugar in certain areas of physicality, most notabley size.

In dream fantasty world where you can somehow pick the best version of Jones and scale him down to MW without hurting him I would pick him to win.

The two actual versions that fought at MW, I pick Sugar.

Sugar Ray by KO round 8. Jones superior natural abilities would come up short against SRR's own great ability and finely honed skills.

Interesting... I thought Jones came to pro in a very seasoned fashion. He displayed frighting power, great footwork and hand speed even in his debut match. Personally I think a green Jones is too big for Robinson and can put a serious hurting on the legend with his speed and power. At Middle weight Jones usually ends his fight a scatter of power shots and his opponent would be Koed or unwilling to continue. I think Jones will take Robinson at middle.

Well the question would be answered somewhere between these two facts. Whilst Jones arrived "seasoned" - with a seemingly natural instinct for making and unmaking angles for punching - there is far more to proffesional boxing than this. Robinson at MW knows every slip in the book. Jones, at MW, hasn't even been hit properly yet.

I'll acknowledge that Jones has a chance to make short work of it. But if the distance starts to tell you will see Robinson taking far more advangage of Jones' mistakes than vice versa for precicely the reasons i've mentioned.

Finally Jones was very average technically during his time at MW, and whilst this actually helped him against middling competition I belive it would work against him when up against a fighter from the top 0.0000000000000000001% of boxing history.

Intangibles, then, but easily identifiable ones.
