The shws that are regarded as great (Lewis, Vitali, Wlad, Bowe, etc.) weren't fat. They were in decent to pretty good shape.
I didnt compare him to Joshua. Not sure where you got that from. I brought CarneravLouis up to illustrate a point. Skill beats size. You take prime Ali and he beats Joshua because the skill, speed and stamina difference would be too great for Joshua to over come simply with brute strength and size. Riddick Bowe was 6`5 235 while Holifield was 6`2 205 but because of skill was still able to go toe to toe with the much bigger man. That Holifield or Bowe absolutely wreck Joshua because the level of skill would be to far in their favor even though they are smaller.
I doubt your boxing knowledge, we have discussed the topic AJ vs Muhammad Ali approximately a thousand times on this forum. We all know what AJ and Muhammad Ali brings to the table and the arguments for AJ are outweighing the arguments for Muhammad Ali, i recommend you to read a couple of the threads about this topic and maybe you will get a clue.
Ali doesn't have the power to truly hurt Aj, Aj doesn't gas from pummeling opponents, he's looked gassed once and that was because wlad caught him coming in with a full left hook (unseen) and had him OUT pretty much 2 rounds. Vs whyte he simply regrouped, vs wlad he had to literally survive many shots that are ko shots. Ali has nothing to bother Aj, he's get annihilated within 3,4 rounds. Simply too much size difference where there not nearly enough "extra" talent Ali has to over compensate. The way Ali gets built up on here, how could he had EVER lost a round ? Simply impossible with the gap in talent between the history of the sport and Ali-man. What color was his cape ?
I forgot that physics just go out the window when we slap that mystical "heavyweight" label on fighters. All we have to do is set Sugar Ray Robinson vs Holyfield at Heavyweight, and we're good to go. Sugar's got the better track record and was more dominant H2H. Holyfield's not better, just bigger.
The problem isn't power but getting close enough to land, this is the problem Joshua is going to have vs Fury. Throwing at fresh air is not going to win the fight.
In fighting the bigger the better. You can be 135 pounds and the greatest fighter of all time but Dustin Nicholls will still swat your ass like a fly.
So what stopped Joe louis from getting decked twice to the floor by a FAT 5'9 240 pound midget who drank during his fights??? i dont recall anyone fitting that description as a modern HW?
I just hope your not refering to galento. He was one of the toughest that ever lived, cameras werent vomplimentary in the old days,it made fighters look slower and fatter. Its hillarious how fast louis is made out to be,by the time hed thought for 2 mins wot he was gonna do,tyson would be appologising in his obituory
Super Heavies fight different, they arent the 200 pounders of yester year. They conserve more energy bc they are much bigger and most have to keep punch counts. This doesnt make them less effective bc when you match them against 200/215 pounders the LITTLE guys are going to drain faster by trying to keep the bigger fighters off them as well as take heavier punches....common sense! Wlad/Joshua/Lewis/Vitali /Ortiz are exceptions they are /were highly athletic in terms of modern fighters ..many guys were..Bowe/Tommy Morrison/Ruddock /Mercer/ Golota all weighed at least 225 and over to name a few who fought with refined skills that were taught properly...even wilder has explosive punching ( still poor balance) ...to compare guys who couldn't fight like a big man proper is another story...sorry but Carnera and the Valuevs are lame comparison to elite fighters. the guys below that 220 mark who moved quickly like Ali and Holmes moved fast bc they WERE below 210 in many fights, borderline 215 on average. If you put these guys against the mentioned are they actually fair fights? not really..bc neither punched hard and faced guys with less skills and size. stating that heavier modern guys arent better is like trying to compare LHW's to light weights, and comparing how refined they are....stupid. Of course bigger guys on average will be slower, how fast was Ali at 220 plus??? see how illogical this is???????????????
Cameras then had LESS Frames per second...you are WRONG. It actually sped the film up bc it didnt have fluid motion with such poor quality. you clearly dont know what you are taling about, trying to defend a fighter like Galento who also has a 50% opposition that lost the prior fight when fighting them is absurd along with such terrible skills,he got to louis bc of WEIGHT thats it,able to bull rush him ,and thats bc of louis's poor defense nothing more....have a good one!!!lol and you brought up FAT overweight guys ...it doesnt get worse than Galento.
Which thread are you talking about arguments for AJ outweighing the arguments for Ali? If you're talking about the 74 pages thread, the poll of it was close when It was first started, somewhere around 55/45. After endless discussions, now It's close to 70/30 in favour of Ali. Sounds like It was the arguments for Ali that outweighed the other.
