This would have been a reasonable opponent for Valladares to start his comeback after that skid in 2020 (a technical draw when he challenged Taduran for the IBF belt at 105lbs, and then a pair of losses) but...he's on a three-win streak and this is a major step down in class from his last two. Not sure what he gains from this, and like Malignaggi says going a long time with a durable limited guy like this can perpetuate bad habits - ie Valladares lazily waltzing in the front door to unload punches whereas higher caliber opponents would be ramming jabs down his throat.

 

Just my imagination or does Paulie sound a little discouraged by Claudia talking over him so much and clipping him off mid-sentence a few times?

 

Shame because they are generally both pleasant and charming members of any broadcast team - but their personalities and energy are clashing awkwardly.
