Yeah it seems like it is as Molina is still in prison so won't make todays Weigh-in. Not the worst thing though as Molina is horrible to watch and his fight would have been been a guaranteed stinker. Rest of the card promises to have fan friendly exciting match-ups.
This card went from solid to WTF is going on. Even though Molina makes fights look ugly I was really looking forward to seeing how Charlo handled a crafty veteran. Overall, the card is still decent.:deal Replacement: Yeyo Thompson vs Alvarez promises to be a good scrap!
Canelo Alvarez vs. Alfredo Angulo - Light Middleweight. Leo Santa Cruz vs. Cristian Mijares - WBC Super Bantamweight World title. Jorge Linares vs. Nihito Arakawa - Lightweight. Ricardo Alvarez vs. Sergio Thompson - Lightweight. Francisco Vargas vs. Abner Cotto - Super Featherweight. It would have made for a great card on normal Showtime but there's no way it should be a PPV now.
The main fight having little relevance is probably the reason everyone seems to be opposed to this being on PPV but the card is deep enough to ease the guilt of paying for it. Besides, I have no choice. My 3 brothers and I split the PPV responsibilities throughout the year and It's my turn this PPV weekend.
I actually think the 4 fight PPV card has improved by having the Molina fight off it. I think the main two fights promise to be good action fights but the first two fights looks like they're going to be great exciting match-ups. Jorge Linares vs. Nihito Arakawa - Lightweight. Ricardo Alvarez vs. Sergio Thompson - Lightweight.
Linares vs Arakawa is not a great fight, Arakawa is badly over matched, his only chance is to cut Linares early. Arakawa is brave but he's not a top 15 lightweight.
