Yeah BHop fights like **** at times as well, recently not as bad but in the past God awful, pathetically horrid.
Fine. i'm not saying that molina is some p4p great, i'm saying that in a division where the best aren't fighting each other, he's done more than anyone else and would be recognised as #1 if his fights had been scored correctly
I'm confused by this thread. The TS claims Molina is no 1 at 154 due to him having accomplished the most at that weight class. He then uses fights against Alvarado, and Chavez Jr twice as evidence. However, none of those fights took place at JMW. His biggest win at JMW was against a faded Cintron. His other high profile fights at JMW didn't result in a win for him. No way in hell is Molina no.1 at JMW. He put on a good performance last night and deserves bigger fights, but let's not get carried away.
He's a lot like Delvin Rodriguez in that he's a LOT better than he's given credit for due to his average record and lack of KO power. With that said, I think it's a serious stretch to say he's the best at 154 when I see a handful of LMWs outclassing him...including the aforementioned Rodriguez. Not to mention the obvious names like Cotto and Alvarez.
i'm saying that the guy has been habitually robbed, that people shouldnt look past him because there are a few losses on his record and that those wins would still count for something a weight class up. and that if his bouts were officiated and judged correctly, wins against lara, kirkland and cintron are as good if not better than anyone else at 154.
This sums things up pretty well. I doubt Molina will ever be a big name, but at this point he'll probably go on to bigger fights and that's where we'll see how he handles himself.
Tough luck, for sure...I do think James would have stopped him late, though. The controversy makes it a win/win for Molina so I'm not going to cry for the guy.
yes, rodriguez is another underrated fighter, though i dont believe he would beat lara or kirkland. as for cotto and alvarez, they have achieved little at 154.
The Lara fight was close, and the draw wasn't that bad. Cintron has never been much of a fighter at 154. As far as the Kirkland fight, Molina seemed on his way winning as long as he didn't get knocked out. However, he was clearly tiring, and got knocked down at the end of the 10th. You can't just assume he would've gotten through those last 2 rounds. It was bad ending all around, but you can't simply assume a Molina win.
He wasn't a victim of poor officiating, his corner ****ed up, simple and plain, not to mention he was knocked on his ass and looked ready to go even before then. It's unfortunate how it went down but it's the fault of his people, regardless how shitty a fight he fought before that.
it was poor officiating, it was absolutely ridiculous that molina could get dq'd like that. moreover it was a goldenboy rep who apparently noticed the moving corner, notified the ref and that was it. doesn't sound suspicious to you?
oh and this man accomplished the most at the weight Guess who it is with wins over: Ishida, Martinez, Cintron, and Phillips at 154 and then Margarito, Quitana and Winky outside the division
it's all my opinion of course, but i believe he beat lara, as do many others. i also believe that he would have survived against kirkland, which is why the fight was so strangely stopped in kirkland's favour as soon as the opportunity arose. if you don't think there was any bias involved, explain the card which had kirkland ahead. i can see what you're saying, but i also want to know who you think has indisputably achieved more at 154?
