Molina promoter said "In texas There is no standing eight count in the case of the knockdown at the end of the round. When a fighter stands up the round is over."

^^^If this the case then the corner man has every right to be in the ring cause it was after the bell and it was after the fighter got up. This better change to a no contest.

The referee controls when the round ends, he was counting, regardless of standing 8 or not, the man was counting and the round hadn't ended.

I thought a standing 8 count was starting a count when the fighter hasnt touched the canvas yet?

The ref can continue the count until he is satisfied the fighter can continue.... surely

He can, he decides when a fighter is "good to continue", he decides when the round has ended etc. These bull**** semantics arguments are no better than the arguments Khan fans dreamed up, just praying something actually stuck.

  10. Texas official Boxing rules are located here:
    http://www.license.state.tx.us/sports/sportsrules101510.pdf

Here is the relevant excerpt, which can be found on page "12R."

Seems to support Molina's claim. First, the bell ending the round rang at the same time as the knockdown. Molina was up at about the count of 3, Molina's trainer was trying to enter the ring after 5 and before 6, but there was no bell signaling the end of the round when Molina got up like there should have been. The ref and timekeeper both botched this and Molina's people seem to have a real legit case for turning it to an NC.

Yeah but the ref is the one who determines whether the fighter has made it up before the count of 10

Title bout. I'm pretty sure the unified rules were in effect, not Texas rules. I already posted this in the other thread about his.

  13. Well, he was looking right at him when he got up... Chalk that up in the "botched" category for that ref. He can obviously count and he has eyes. Did you see him make a "determination" in the ring? Naw he just kept counting... then Molina's camp tried to get in the ring and the ref can be heard saying "...5... are you ****ing kidding me?... 6... 7..." And Molina had already been up.

  14. Molina was knocked down, he was not saved by the bell, he received a mandatory 8 count (not to be confused with a standing 8 count), and the referee stopped the fight. The unified rules were followed, but the TEXAS rules were the criteria the ref used to stop the fight. The unified rules don't even mention chief seconds in the ring or when the round should be considered over.... which the Texas rules explicitly detail.
