he held 80% of the fight, even when he was tagging kirkland, he went back to holding. he didnt even try to go for the kill. it was smart i guess but how do u expect to get fans and tv dates fighting like that. it kills the drama for both fighters. as soon as the fight got hot at the end, what do molina do....hold the whole damn round. finally kirk caught him and he went down. him losing the fight was the boxing gods way of saying "stop being a ***** and close the show *******". next time he know just getting by isnt good enough.
If you took Hopkins and Ricky Hatton combined them and stripped them of 90% of there skill you have Molina.
that holding was ridic, he should have been dq'ed for that not for his cornerman accidentally stepping one foot in the ring in a confusing situation which ended up making the fight look corrupt. Instead he wasnt even warned once for it.....only in boxing
Molina is not the most exciting fighter in the world and he did stink it up tonight but this might just have been a bad clash of styles. I'm a fan of the Kirkland style of constantly coming forward but he looked very inept tonight.
molina was just awful. a disgrace to boxing. he deserved every bad thing that happened to him in that fight.
Seriously hopkins has done much worse and received plenty of rightfull praise for it, he wasnt john ruiz in there, he still boxed pretty well when they were not clinching and was dominating kirkland.
