Boxing is not all about Slugging it out. I enjoy watching all different types of fighters and styles. Pleeease there must be other fans out there who enjoy seeing fighter showcasing their skills as well as seeing blood-soaked battles of attrition.

You haven't been watching the right fights. Caballero was boring in the Lacierva fight and the PDL fight, and that's pretty much it. When his opponent isn't busy turtling up and illegally moving his entire body below the belt half the time, he actually throws quite a few punches with bad intentions. The PDL fight was a stretegy issue - PDL is mostly an inside fighter, and Caballero used the jab to effectively control the distance and outbox him from the outside, though he still managed to drop PDL once and hurt him a couple other times. Molitor has also been fairly busy with what I've seen of him, although I suspect he'll have a more defense-first style against a big puncher.

I'd say this matchup is closer to Ali-Frazier

Wow, Really??? Gotta respect it comming from a Guru.
How can you be so sure?

The great thing about this fight is that it's got Toronto (one of the worst boxing towns anywhere) actually talking about boxing! Alot!

Cabellero was down at Cabbagetown Boxing today and there was all kinds of media hanging around... they're already running full-page stories in the paper and and talking it up on radio and TV news and the whole bit. It's a big deal up here.

There has'nt been a boxing buzz in this town since Ali/Chuvalo at Maple Leaf Gardens... like 40 years ago!~

The Castillo fight was pretty boring fight too, and the Valvuena fight too. The others fight where mismatches in Venezuela and Panama sorry but this fight is not so exiting.

No, I personally thought Hop-Pavlik was a better match up than this fight. I picked Hop to beat Pav, and I thought Jones would find it harder to beat Cal. Molitor is a good fighter. A smooth, busy southpaw. Caballero is also a very good fighter. CC is a slow starter, but Molitor doesn't have power. This is a good fight. Right now I have CC to stop Molitor. Molitor is another Canadian fighter who has been fighting powder puff comp. He has the tools, but so did Bute. I have Molitor to box well in the beginning, and then he gets caught cold by CC in round 9. I'm glad CC is getting a note worthy fight.

Yes . . . I feel it is . . . not many were giving this fight that much attention because it is in the lower weight class . . . but it is a very promising fight. Techncal skills and fighting heart of both are dead even.

This is gonna be an action fight ala Vasquez/Marquez.

Also, anytime you have a southpaw fighting an orthodox fighter, anything can happen. Molitor might be able to land at will, or he will find it hard to reach CC who has height and reach over Molitor.

Maybe only in HYPE . . . because both Darchiryan and Mijares were HOTLY PROMOTED.

Yes, I'm amped for this fight. The fight makes Canadian history in being a unification bout, and Molitor is a workhorse who always shows up ready to go. He can be arrogant, but he trains hard and I'm a fan for it. Can't wait to watch this one.

why was Mijares vs Darchinyan only a better matchup for those buying into that Mijares hype? it should be the contrary. explain yourself.

And i think most people will pick Caballero over Molitor. He is much taller and heavier than Molitor.

Puerto Rico's Luis Pabon has been given the refereeing assignment for Friday night's Super Bantamweight title unification bout between IBF champion, "The Canadian Kid" Steve Molitor, and WBA kingpin, Celestino Caballero, of Panama. Like Pabon, all three ringside judges scoring the bout are geographically neutral, with Connecticut's Glenn Feldman, New Jersey's Eugene Grant, and Thomas Miller of Ohio rendering the decision should the fight go to the scorecards. Supervising from ringside will be IBF representative Lindsey Tucker, and the WBA's Michael Welsh, both hailing from New Jersey.

most fights are better when they have great hype going in..If your not buying into the hype then your not as excited about the fight, if your not excited and the fight happens the way you thought it would then its to you isnt a great matchup. It wasnt a great fight I thought that Vic dominated and won every round except one then knocked the guy out...And would you know it, I thought the same thing about this fight and what happened the same thing.
