Molitor vs. Caballero...what a great style mesh-up. Will Molitor see off the puncher?

I have great hope that Molitor will beat Caballero - box him silly - and that it'll be a great fight.

Any other thoughts about this important, exciting bout?

I have watched both fighters, but I think hometown crowd, and Molitor's busy style will take him a UD victory.

I get the feeling few people have watched Molitor fight.

    • Has Molitor every faced a big guy like this?
    • Does Molitor still have hand problems which makes him use the softer gloves? Will that effect has punching effectiveness?
    • The fight is in Ontario, Canada Molitor's grounds.
    • Parra lasted until the 12th vs Caballero, he has been in a war at 112 vs Sakata and got TKO's in three in the rematch at 115 before moving up to 122. Was he a spent fighter?
    • Cabellero, is he a better fighter than the guy who was knocked out by Jose Rojas and knocked down and decisioned by the good figher Ricardo Cordoba?
I favor Molitor especially with the hometown ref/judges cushion (potentially). He won't go for the knock out like he did vs 3K and knows if he boxes will and scores points its in the bag. Molitor UD seems likely, but truth be told I don't know enough about either man. We need insights from people that have followed both of their careers.

All the judges are from the USA.

Caballero is here for a reason. Molitor's people picked this guy. The guy isnt super quick and throws wide punches. He has a little pop but not at all devastating. He is "Taylor-Made".

Molitor's first fight against a taller opponent. Can he outbox despite the range? I defenitly see Caballero winning the first four, especially that molitor likes to start off slow. But 5 and up, its gonna all about ''the canadian kid''.

This is gonna be tomorrow. :D

My thoughts . . . Caballero will be real stupid if he doesn't make use of his longer reach and height advantage. He and his team should have known by now . . . what Molitor is capable of doing . . . so he should be prepared to box and move and not to allow Molitor to throw in his combos.

It's pretty much a 50/50 fight for me.

In thoery Molitor is the one that has to go further out of his comfort zone and do it in a bigger fight then he's ever been in against a guy who is by far the best he's ever faced. Keep that in persepective. iN My mind that gives the big edge to Cabellero. But the flip side is that we know Molitor is very skilled and very slick. He might just prove to be too much skill for Cabellero. So doing what I said above won't be as important as I imagine it to be.
