Mollo f**ked up. He should never have called out Golota.

After he knocked out Binkowski Mollo called out Golota.

I think this was a huge mistake. His career may be about over after Jan 19. All the highly skilled Golota has to do is make it past the first couple of rounds (his danger zone) and he will then begin to school Mollo en route to a mid round easy stoppage.

Many of you may say Mollo will do to Golota what Brewster, Tyson and Lewis did to him.

    :verysad

Remember, Golota has never lost a fight to a bum. Only A-class fighters have beatin' Golota. This is because Golota has always been a B-Class figher (mental issues) with A-class talent. Mollo has power, but does not pocess the brute KO power than Brewster Tyson and Lewis all had. Golota has always had a good chin and will be able to withstand whatever Blow-Mo has to offer. Once he finds out he cannot hurt Golota, he will crumble and Golota will drown Mollo.

    Your thoughts?

Mistake? That's just your opinion. :D

We will find out if your opinion is correct.

But for a fighter who wants to make a name for himself . . . there's no where to go but to take risks. At least Mollo has the balls to call and fight someone who can give him trouble. :yep

I agree with your basic analysis of Golota. He has only lost to upper-tier fighters, and mostly due to his own mental issues. Having said that, he is getting up there in years, and he could conceivably get old overnight. If he does, he might end up losing to a less than stellar fighter. I have always been impressed with Golota's talents, but not so impressed with what he has done with that talent.

Golota isn't going to be around forever. The guy is in his, what, early 40's? Just because he always keeps himself well conditioned does not mean that he is going to be able to compete at such a high level forever. Many of you fans seem to be worried about the threat of him getting caught early. I think the opposite is going to happen. Mollo will be patient, the damage will start to accumulate on Andrew, and then he's going to get clobbered late.

I give Mollo credit for that and i think he has gone after a big name that he has a great chance of beating. This is not a prime Golota. If Mcbride can hurt him ,Mollo can taske him out - Mollo KO 3

Quite true. Golota just had a 40th birthday. But in his last fight vs McBride, he showed he can still box and brawl pretty well. McBride seemed to stagger Golota a bit in the first round, but Golota for first time showed maturity and weathered the storm and took control by round two before stopping McBride in the 6th.

I also agree, Golota wasted his tremendous talents in his prime years. Now that he is older he has improved on the mental game, but his physical tools are not what they used to be. I think they well be enough to stop a C-Class fighter like Mollo.

McBride is a very big man and was hitting Golota with flush shots all through round one. He in fact staggered Golota, but Golota almost always starts out cold, nervous and vulnerable. Mollo has power, but I do not think he has the kind of brute force to bomb him out early the way Brewster Tyson and Lewis did. Mollo might catch Golota early and stagger him a bit, but wont be able to take him out. Golota will then jab Mollo and stop him.

True. Golota hasn't fought in his prime since the late '90s. He's nearly a dacade removed from his physical best and is now 40 years old. I will not completely discount the possiblity of Golota showing us he has nothing left in the tank. In his last outing vs McBride, however, I saw no signs of Golota fighting like he is "shot".

If Mollo hurts him early he will go for the kill just as he did to Mc Bride

I'm surprised the bookies have Mollo as the favourite though

I have no doubt Mollo will attempt to hurt Golota early as he usually does. I just dont think he has the kind of power to do to Golota what he did to McBride and Binkowski (Golota has much better chin and skills than both those guys). Having said that, he does have good power and Golota is now 40, so I could be wrong. But I wouldnt bet on it.

There's a lot of truth in this, although I don't think I'd consider Brewster and Ruiz to be A-class fighters. They'd be more along the lines of B-class, but still, Golota doesn't lose to journeymen or fringe contenders.
So is Mollo B-class or better? I don't know. He's still a prospect at this point. The reason I think Mollo beats Golota is because Golota is 40 years old and hasn't been the most active fighter in the last few years.

I also don't think Golota has the desire to get into a slugfest with a younger and hungrier heavyweight. I don't know if Mollo stops him early, but I think he can outwork and thus frustrate his way to a decision or some sort or a Golota meltdown. I am actualy a bit interested in this fight.

Ruiz, I thought he did enough to win by decision. He knocked him down twice, Ruiz had a point deducted. Most of the rounds were farily close, there's no way Ruiz should have gottin the knod.

I thought he did enough to take Byrd's belt as well.

Of course you are interested in a Golota fight. Even if u are not a fan, something interesting almost always happens with him.

Both the Byrd and Ruiz fights were close. I thought he beat Byrd. When I saw the Ruiz fight live I thought Golota won, when I saw it on tv I scored it for Ruiz, but close fights nontheless.

Golota is one of the most unpredictable and entertaining fighters in the sport . Even today he's fun to watch, not to mention the chance to see what Mollo does or doesn't have make this an interesting bout.

Mollo hits harder then Brewster. And unlike limited Brewster, Mollo can box a little.
McBride can not KO Golota in first round only because he has no power. Mollo has power and he will finish Golota.
Also Golota is 40 years old! Everything point out to easy win for Mollo.
