I talked to mike yesterday and it looks like golatta is going to take the fight but both managers were out of town to look over the contracts. mike said nothing is in ink but it looks like a showdown at M.S.G jan 19th HBO, the undercard r jones jr v.s trinidad, cant wait to see MOLLO K.O golatta early and be the chi-town rep!
First of all, his name is GOLOTA, pronounced Go-ota. Not fuking gollaaatttaa, and I'm sure you know that so stop pretending like you don't even know how to spell his name. 2nd of all, if Golota can last for thru Mollo's initial bum rush (which I dont see why he can't considering he knows exactly what Mollo is going to do) for the first 2 rounds, its either going to be a KO or TKO mid-late rounds with Golota taking the fight.
Golata, even at his advanced age will box Mollo's ears off. But to Mikes credit, he won't quit, and undoubtably Andrew will once again seize defeat from the jaws of victory.Mollo will win because he wants it more, and maybe finally this will be the last recycle of the long ago used up foul Pole.
Golota stopped siezing defeat from the jaws of victory with his fight against Grant, which was years ago. The only danger to him with Mollo is Mollo is a fast starter, and he needs to watch out for the first 2 rounds. If Mollo doesnt catch Golota early, and Golota doesnt try to brawl with him, Golota should have no trouble winning this fight.:bbb
Why the hell would they have this fight in New York? Both are Chicago guys and neither is that good. Golata should win this (another) meaningless fight. Could be fun to watch though.
The fight being outside of Chicago is good for AG. The less supporters he has expecting victory from him the better he does, since there is less pressure put on him. They tried to get AG a fight with Meehan instead, but from what I have heard, Meehan did not want the fight, so Mollo was only other option at the time I guess.
Rumor is that Meehan helped Golota with sparring for McBride, and that Meehan left because Golota was too rough for him.
If Golota was in his prime, this fight is an utter mismatch. But he's not. Mollo's best chance in this fight is the same as Brewster's was - jump on him early and take him out before he gets going. If Golota survives the early rounds - even at his current age, he wins an easy decision here, imo.
Contracts are signed and will be live on HBO PPV, not regular HBO. It will be replayed next week after Jan 19th on regular HBO.
Who the hell would buy this fight on PPV? I wouldnt waste 10 bucs watching these 2 fight, Golota will never be championship material again, even in this weak division. To all the huge Golota fans, what title holder or holders can Golota beat and how?
