Getting impatient here! Aussie Jason Moloney (17-0 / 14KO) is the next unbeaten fighter to officially enter the WBSS BW field, besides Ryan Burnett (19-0 / 9KO) and Emmanuel Rodriguez (18-0 / 12KO) plus danger man Zolani Tete (27-3, 21 KO). That's the IBF, the WBA Super and the WBO belts while the WBC title is vacant.

Surprisingly absent from the official announcement list is Naoya Inoue (16-0, 14KO), who reportedly said he'll be there and use an August 19 FW exhibition match to keep in shape. However, no official word came from organizers so far on his participation, or the minor WBA belt in the mix.

Not only the July 22 draw ceremony was announced for Moscow and is around the corner, rumor says Russians r pushing to get Mikhail Aloyan (4-0, 0KO) in, a former amateur standout, through a novice at the pros. Russians also want to stage a QF. But the BW tourney is not legit without Inoue, and Monster has little excitement at 118 left if they don't include him. So what might be the issue?

    - lack of money to come up with Inoue's fee? (is there a fee for bigger names?)
    - r they saving Inoue for a big July 22 announcement?
    - Russians want his spot or just keeping him away from their own?
    - conspiracy incl. Aliens, the Illuminati and @Boxed Ears?

Inoue have other plans from my understanding. He will move up in weight as far as I know.

So we're getting Jason Baloney instead of Gojira? That's a major bummer.

I think you got your wires crossed he did move up and he’s had only one fight at bantamweight witch was against McDonnell.

Source? I read on Asian Boxing News I think he's a bit impatient but still preparing to WBSS, which is the right platform at his age and current status, as it could bring him to international fame. No other opportunity offers this besides some sort of Rungvisai catch-match, but that's unlikely.

I'd really wanna look behind those doors what's going on. Naoya said he wants in, so what could keep him out? Forces to be? Money? Huge offer from an outside party? Mothra?

I think him taking part is on question mark because his managemnet might have different idea about his career.

He is nowhere to be seen because conflict of interest with the US TV deal. His promoter has a deal in place.

Lucky for Moloney. Now he won't have to undergo surgery to repair a severely prolapsed rectum.

There is no US TV deal, DAZN is an online platform, and the advantage of streaming is that you don't have your TV air time booked by someone else, you can stream it any time, and anyone with an internet connection is seconds away from watching it, a minute if he/she has to sign up first.

So how's there a conflict? Unless Team Inoue somehow signed long-term with ESPN+, hoping they'd pick WBSS up... That would be a shame.
