ESPN+ sounds logical, tho I'm not sure ppl. actually sign to that. Arum has a deal & helps getting some int. fights over, but also expressed given the money, his fighters can fight elsewhere. Inoue most likely has Japanese TV deal and I don't see how or why he would've signed up for ESPN+, makes no sense since his only US appearance was on HBO. IF he did though, or even was a verbal agreement, Japanese are honorable ppl. and will follow through.

But Inoue specifically said he's in the WBSS, so it'd need some undoing on multiple levels to not be included, here's hoping for the best. After all, 4 places are still open...

Inoe's promoter said that TV deal is a big stumbling stone and that there are other options for Inoue. He said that Japanese tv deal is a big issue and that he might sign deal with ESPN or ESPN+ and that is the issue as well. The promoter of Inoue doesn't want to burn bridges with participation Inous in WBSS 2, this is not occasion where this is a flexible deal from Inoue's promoter's standpoint.

As of June 26th Inoue still wanted to be involved, though he is sounding impatient at having no details of when, where or who

That's sad, especially if the fighter wants it, but being Japanese, he's not gonna back stab his promoter for his own gain. I can respect that, but no deal is a big deal. Inoue would be the best fighter yet to join the series and they need to demonstrate they can involve P4P talent.

I don't think ESPN has a deal just yet, but I'm interested how the Japanese TV deal is an issue, any info on the particulars? Are WBSS contracted to a different network in Japan? If so, why would they do that and effectively ruin Inoue's chances of entering? Or Inoue's TV doesn't want the whole WBSS package?
