Excellent assessment. And I really thought Cotto was gonna war it out with Shane in that fight but he surprised the hell out of me by doing more boxing instead of being aggressive.

 

ODLH - was only stopped 2x one by a top 5 mw of all time.

Winky Wright - was stopped on some bias **** in his 20th something fight and since was never stopped or even being closed to being stopped for the rest of his career.

Vernon Forest (rip) - only stopped by a prime mayorga, which to ths day is the only guy who gave the viper hell in the ring.

Cotto - he had cotto out on his feet, then he lets cotto outbox him the last 2 rds to lose the fight. cant help shane on that one, he blew that fight kinda like clottey did against cotto.the both had cotto out and still loss :-(

Mayweather - enough said

alot of those guys you mentioned were hard as **** to beat let alone ko, especially at the time he fought those guys. i think wright was the only one stopped when he fought shane but that was like 20 something fights and over 10 yrs ago.

Morrales - Elite in his prime hell yeah, buy the time he got in the ring with manny he was past his best but still a good fighter.

Barrera - same as Morrales, elite in his prime. past his best when he got it on with manny.

Diaz - was not elite

ODLH - was not elite at the time, part time fighter and grossly weight drained.

Hatton - If he was elite to you then so is Margarito and Mosley did stop him.

Cotto - Cotto my boy Cotto.well you can call him elite, but i still think after what margo did to him he would never be the same. i still think that, cotto went into the ring and after 4rds was broken.ill give many cotto but its hard because i think cotto is almost done.ill' know after his rematch with margo at a full 154 what he has left.

alot of elite fighters manny stopped were either way passed there prime or serverly weight drained or both. alot of times it was both, i aslo think todays shane could have stopped those same fighters manny did had he fought them at that time.

shane fought animals in there primes and there proper weight classes. that might not mean **** to you, but these are the intangibles that are often over looked when talking pacman and who has beat and or stopped.

Shane has always been a bit technically flawed. He's got great pnching power, but only when the guy is standing right in front of him. Once you give him movement he gets lost. Mora made him look ridiculously awkward. Pacquiao has some of the best footwork in the game , if he decides to box Shane, Shane isn't going to get anytihng off.

i think the little guys were shot or at the very least being aimed at.
i think the bigger guys were weight drained and or coming off of brutal ko losses
