You can always spot someone who is new to the sport, who has very little boxing knowledge, and who fails to dig deep enough to analyze the question they are posing. When you look at the list of fighters above, you have to ask yourself what is the TS trying to prove? Well he states, "Mosley is NOT powerful against fighters with good movement." So lets start there first: Mosley vs DLH I - DLH in fact didn't employ movement (i.e. fought off back foot). DLH attempted to walk Shane down as if Shane were a smaller and weaker opponent. Mosley vs DLH II - In their 2nd fight DLH did attempt to fight off the back foot and for 6 rounds he was able to stay on the move. Mosley vs Winky I & II - Winky didn't employ the cutie southpaw movement from Winky's early days as a fighter. Winky employed a high guard and attempted to pressure and walk Shane down. Mosley vs Forrest I & II - Vernon didn't employ a lot of movement (i.e. as in the Mayorga II fight). Vernon kept distance between them by taking small steps back, throwing his long jab (though not landing with much regularity), and tying Shane up on the inside and NOT allowing the Shorter man to work. Mosley vs Cotto - Cotto did employ some movement especially later in the fight once he had tired, but Cotto relied much more on out pointing Shane with his jab than avoiding Shane with his foot work. So what does all of the above tell us? It certainly tells us that "Movement" wasn't an achilles heel for Shane in these fights at the time he fought them. Now, may be a different story but NOT in these fights. It also tells you that the other "MYTH" that Shane had trouble against good boxers is false. Only Vernon defeated Shane in his prime boxing from the outside, but a big part of his success was his physical size, and his inside strategy. Another "MYTH" is dispelled, that you can't "WALK" Shane down. Not true, Winky did just that, he walked Shane down and bullied him. Cotto showed that Shane can be outpointed even if you aren't as tall as Vernon or as fast as Shane. The fact that Shane didn't get a knock out in these fights isn't due to movement it was due to the execution of the game plan on the night of these fights, and some cases the quality of the chin of his opponent, and in others it was due to not landing enough hard clean punches. Now if you really want to come to a conclusion about Shane's ability to KO or TKO an "ELITE" opponent who has a quality chin; Those old fights simply are NOT relevant anymore. The issue is, how often, and over how many rounds can Shane land hard clean shots with leverage against a "PRIME" Pacquiao? Because if you know anything about the sport, then you should realize it probably will take more than one shot to KO Pac. And honestly I don't think anyone, not me, not the TS, not anyone can really say with any certainty whether Shane can do that.
Ask any veteran on this forum about my post and how those fights went down and I guarantee I will get 99% agreement. Your post shows you never actually saw any of those fights plain and simple. Any fool that says winky used movement or shanes fight with winky shows a problem with movement is simply blind or never saw the fights.
You got it buddy, you best take me as the mother****ing Gospel! Because once again ONLY one guy used movement as a strategy (i.e. tactic) in his fight with Shane out of those you listed and that guy lost (DLH II). So you might as well edit your post as a fail. ROFL Oh and let me once again point out. That doesn't mean this current version of Mosley won't have problems with movement. He very well could, but you don't base that argument on fights that were over 10 years ago in some cases, and none of which (accept 1) a guy actually fought off the back foot. That just shows you are a NOOB.
Yeah but that is Margo's fault. He gave them the ammunition to question him. Sucks but it is the truth. Any fool can see Margo was a top welter of his era but he gave them something to focus on besides his quality wins.
