I remember seeing TV footage, or maybe a photograph in a newspaper, of Cassius Clay/Muhammed Ali during his exile, where he was being beseiged by the press in an airport or something. I could have sworn he had let his hair grow into a nice little afro, but I can find no evidence today.

I’ve read but haven’t seen the movie….The Night They Raided Minsky’s 1968 apparently contains footage of the Jeffries vs Sharkey being projected onto a screen in the background. The film is set in 1925.

The movie was released in 68 around the same time as Legendary Champions - I could guess the footage of Jeffries-Sharkey was lifted from
the doco for the movie but can’t say for sure.

I was watching an ep of the new hospital drama The Pitt - an older patient was wheeled in and said he felt like he’d been hit with a left hook by Billy Conn.

That was pretty cool to hear and not the boxing example/analogy you would expect, especially to exemplify impact force.

First few seasons of the show "Cheers", there's a photo of two boxers...Max Baer & Primo Carnera according to some random person on Reddit, holding a baby together.

Two Men and a Baby? The irony.
