We are not part of the commercial ratings but my mate at Nielsens says that the National Indigenous Radio Service stations and Koori Radio in Sydney and Live and Deadly in Melbourne in particular would swamp some of the low end commercials particularly for the specialist sports shows like the Sweet Science in Sydney and Marn Grook in Melbourne (The AFL radio show has run for over 10 years and is now a super popular show on NITV).

One of the things we can measure is online traffic and we are constantly surprised by the amount of people listening online. We have over 100 Indonesian listeners every week and over 200 people listen from the Philippines alone.

Our Shane Mosley show had over 1500 people from oz listening online.

We know how popular it is because most nights after the show we have half an hour of calls coming in from everywhere to the station. They are truly some of the funniest calls you could take but give us some great leads on old fighting uncles and tent boxers that we should interview. Once you start talking boxing with a fanatic you can write off that hour.

We've had over 100 entries on some nights for competitions which exceeds anything a commercial station promotion will do. Not surpisingly Mundine tickets create a frenzy.

We look forward to it all week and in my day job i work with Cricket Australia, AFL and a host of other sports but nothing holds a candle to the Sweet Science and its gang of eclectic characters and warriors.

Thanks for listening and if there is anyone you think has some boxing yarns to share let us know. Age limits 8-108.
