If by earned it you mean follow after floyd like a puppy begging instead of fighting the fights that would put him in line for a shot, then yeah you're absolutely right.......

Not He hasn't earned **** because He gets well paid to fight the best available He is not like fighting for free. For the money He is getting He need to fight the best because a fight like that is a black eye for boxing. If He is fighting for at least five million then I'm ok but forty plus to fight some past His prime not so good fighter is a joke and the fans that are ok with this garbage are even worse.

Are you suggesting that over the last 10 years he has fought the best possible opponents available for him to face at the time in which he faced them? Pfffft

Ill suggest it, becuase its true

You can say "he fought people at the wrong time blah blah blah"

lets be honest, no matter when floyd would have beat them you would log on here to tell us why he doesnt deserve credit.

    How about a new questiom

not:why couldnt floyd beat them at this point in time.

but: why couldnt any of these younger fighters beat an old floyd from the 90's?

an old past his prime de la hoya did better against a younger floyd.

why is this question never asked,

If Floyd gets a KO, the tunes will change and bandwagon jumpers will say how great berto was.

That "blah, blah, blah" represents an undefeated Paul Williams, 154 version of Martinez, Margarito at 47, undefeated Cotto at 47, and '09/10 Pac. Whether or not Floyd would have been victorious in all of these fantasy fights is irrelevant. What is relevant is that these fights can only merely be regarded as fantasy bouts because he failed to make these fights happen. The fact that there is a pattern of avoidance gives merit to the allegation of him taking the path of minimal resistance.

Furthermore, if Floyd fought and defeated all of the aforementioned names at the time of their perceived peaks, there would be a significant difference in how he's regarded by fans and observers. Surely he would still have his share of critics, but there would likely be far fewer with less ammunition.

Short Answer: Old Oscar was better than a young, Ortiz, Guerrero, Maidana, Hatton, Judah, and even Canelo.
