Listen, you can tune into the mayweather reality show, buy the wwe PPVs and DVR his dancing with the stars. I'll spend my time being a fan of boxers who actually take on tough competition and earn their keep in the ring.
It's not getting to me. I absolutely love **** talking mayweather fans. They don't have a leg to stand on because their idol isn't credible. He's been the recipient of a gift decision and he's been in some of the most boring fights of the past 10 years.
I didnt buy the WWE PPV, and only just got around to watching it about a week ago. It was hilarious. I watched a few episodes of dancing with the stars until he was eliminated. And I'll definitely be watching his reality show if its actually well put together. Who wouldnt want to see the Mayweathers on reality tv. Name 3 fighters of this era that have accomplished more then Mayweather.
Manny Pacquiao Erik Morales Lennox Lewis James Toney Evander Holyfield Bernard Hopkins Roy Jones Jr. Shane Mosley
Manny Pacquiao, Oscar De La Hoya, Roy jones, Bernard Hopkins, Joe Calzaghe, and Shane Mosley for accomplishing more defenses at lightweight all via KO.
There is **** talking and then there is just plain acting like a *****. **** talkers are funny, say witty things. You on the other hand "Mayweather and his fans are ***gots blah blah blah" it just comes off as sad. 1. Post your Castillo vs Mayweather scorecard 2. Most boring fights of this decade? Besides Baldomir after round 6 what really boring fights has he been in? His fights with Corley, Chavez, Augustus, Mitchell, Castillo 1 were wars. His fights with Marquez, Hatton, Judah, Corrales were clinics If Mayweather was boring. People wouldnt buy his fights. His fights being far from boring. I work with alot of Mexican youth and they love Mayweather. I try to talk Erik Morales and they wanna talk Mayweather vs Pacquiao.
Roy Jones era was before Mayweather. Bernard Hopkins best wins came against smaller fighters. Beating Trinidad and ODLH holds about the same significance as Mayweathers victory over Marquez. Mayweather beat bigger fighters his whole career, Hopkins beat smaller guys. Joe Calzaghe Shane Mosley Oscar De La Hoya - would be greater then Mayweather, only problem is he lost most of his best fights. Manny Pacquiao - the only fighter of this era that has any real clear advantage over Mayweather in resume.
There are multiple threads where I have talked about the castillo/may fight and put up my score... go read one of them to find out what I thought. Mayweather is ****ing boring. Every boxing fan I know here in SD thinks the exact same ****. He is exciting to people who enjoy defensive counter punching, which isn't many.
Where was Mayweather the year Roy Jones beat ruiz? Shane Mosley was called the best lightweight since duran during his run. Oscar took on more champions and tougher competition than floyd has dreamed of.
Holyfield and Lewis era was before Mayweather. Their primes were over when Mayweather became elite. Erik Morales was a great fighter but never accomplished anything close to what Mayweather has accomplished. James Toney - too inconsistent. Lost to journeymen, didnt train as hard as he could have, took steroids ect. Bernard Hopkins - Best wins came against smaller men Roy Jones jr - Prime was before Mayweather became elite. Two weeks before Mayweather beat Corley, Jones had just been KO'd by Tarver Shane Mosley - Never established himself as the clear best in his class. Was outclassed by Winky Wright and Vernon Forrest. Best wins are Oscar twice, Mayorga, VArgas and Margarito. Not close to Mayweather. Maybe if he goes up to 160 and KO's Kelly Pavlik, it would be the same as Mayweather being known as the best 147lber in the world.
Who'd he beat at the weight that was anywhere close to beating a prime Castillo? Meaningless. You're resume is based off who you beat and not who you fought. If simply facing fighters mattered, Emmanuel Augustus would be the greatest fighter of this era. :rofl
If you've put up your score you wouldnt have trouble simply reposting it. Well SD hasnt produced many great fighters, so their opinions probably arent as good. Not really, most casual fans love seeing highlights of Mayweather making people miss. Its the problem with you Mayweather haters, you think that fans are s unrefined as you are. But given Mayweathers PPV numbers you are almost always proven wrong. Also, Mayweather has shown to be incredibly versatile throughout his career. He's boxed as a pressure fighter, boxed as a counter puncher, and stood in the pocket. You dont really ever know what you're going to get with Mayweather, its based entirely on the opponent.
