Floyd looked brilliant he could of shut cotto out if he boxed long but he stayed in a dog fight with cotto and beat him at his own game vintage stuff
I always consider this to be my super fight and the fight turn out way more competitive then i could dream up. Floyd showed why he is the best tonight an i am sure after i watch the reply of the fight that i will see Floyd totally dominate during the fight but that **** was so much fun. Cotto and Diza make a good team Cotto put on a hell of a performance and i cant wait to see him again. #MoneyTeam
Yeah, Mayweather was not off. Mayweather seemed a little content to try fighting off the ropes more than he had too. Still Cotto to his credit forced a lot of those occasions and landed without provocation at times. Let's not get crazy with the he was off or past it notions. He looked pretty damn good to me. Pac still looks more past it than Floyd physically to me (Even Kellerman talked about this when Pac was busting up Margo's eye and dominating him in 2010).
This. . . I had it 9-3 May, but 10-2 is pretty much on point as well. . . Some people at the bar were acting like it was a robbery, and saying how "Cotto dominated" Lol this really was pretty much exactly how I thought the fight would play out. . . Save Cotto's moments of effectiveness in the center of the ring (although still few, and far between).
I sometimes stick jabs at the Mayweather fans but Floyd backed up his word and came to fight. Great performance.
This really shouldn't have been surprising. Floyd can land on the inside but he's so defensively-oriented that he doesn't ship back as many lethal punches as when he's initiating. And if he does, he's in an exchange and capable of being touched up.
good post. pretty much agree with this. both surprised the hell out outta me. nobody can question eithers heart. btw, i had it scored 8-4 for Floyd. was hoping he would have got the KO in the 12th but it was good competitive fight.
Cotto did well enough and looked good. He has a bunch of great fights ahead of him. It was a win/win actually. Side note: Why the **** did Cotto ***** out and not do an interview??
this. if you could give props up in this ***** I would. I take nothing away from cotto. But floyd fought against adversity and won. How can you hate?
cotto's defense was better than i expected. . . usually floyd is more of 2, maybe 3 punch combination guy off a counter. . . But there was times where he would just take it to Cotto with 4,5 punch combinations, and to Cotto's credit, he didn't eat too many cleanly . . . Cotto did good at stay out of Mayweather's money range - either timing a shooting jab from the outside, or quickly closing hte distance. . . This content is protected . It also seemed like he went to the body pretty good too - that probably played a role in Cotto looking tired down the stretch.
