8 oz gloves would have put Miguel out of there.

:patsch not if floyd decides to fight the way he was fighting like standing where the ropes were. If he were to outbox him the whole time i could see your arguement.

Yes Cotto did close the distance and got Mayweather to the ropes several times. Floyd could have spun out and got out of there too. Cotto gets mad respect from me bc I thought he wouldn't get past 6. **** after Mayweather started looping that right hand I was just waiting for a right uppercut to come in unexpected but he didn't throw it.

Floyd himself said that he could have made it easier but he wanted to fight toe to toe. Tonight was just a great night of boxing all around. Cotto and Floyd both put in some good body work on the inside and the ref was great as well.

Why is everyone assuming that Floyd chose to fight like that? Cotto was starting to push the pace and come forward. Moving laterally and trying to maintain output expends alot of energy. Maybe this particular stylistic matchup resulted in Floyd having to fight more than simply box? This is Hero worship nonsense. Floyd fought a great fight but to assume that he held back or chose to fight a certain way is asinine speculation.

I think Floyd is telling the truth, but exaggerating about fighting toe to toe. He sure did want to fight there some especially at first because he was catching Cotto good, but after a while I don't think he wanted to be there as long. I did notice though in his favor that after Cotto landed one really good shot, Floyd was able to get out asap and seemingly at will.

Here's his quote from the press conference: “This fight I thought: I’m not going to move, I could’ve made it easy. I was going for the KO. He was in tremendous shape.”

And when he boxed with Miguel in the center of the ring and moved, it looked fairly easy for him. I need to watch it again though

yeah, cotto was committed to attacking him on the ropes. i can tell floyd didnt like that and he had a hard time getting Cotto of him. the ref hardly broke it, so floyd had to dig deep and fight on the ropes. i loved that. floyd was on some Ali ****. good fight. worth every penny i spent on it.

i liked him back in the day when he was PBF :D
nah man....when i saw floyd bleeding and he acted like he liked it and was having fun and couldnt wait for the next round to start... and calling out arum on the biggest world spotlight live possible.... it might get a little boring in the mayweather threads for a while because i got nothing negative to say about him anymore... he was in a fight tonight...i got my 60 dollars worth :good

Past his best? Mayweather looked awesome. Letting his hands go the way he did. He gets better as he gets older not worse

I'd never call him a warrior, and I mean that as a compliment.

Have been saying for years on here there are only two fighters in the World today that are virtually unbeatable and they are PBF and Vitali Klitschko. Both have excellent Defense and Ring IQ. The graphic HBO showed where they both are basically un-hittable by their opponent further proved it.

Mayweather is an Iron Chinned Warrior. :good

How the fukk was he a warrior? He fought a one-dimensional fat guy with short arms and was way past his arms. Please elevate your standards of a "warrior" this is a public forum with people who take the warrior thing seriously.
