People must also consider this... Once Manny Pacquiao fights Floyd Mayweather Jr., win or lose his career is pretty much over.

If he wins, there's nothing more to prove. Apart from a rematch with Floyd or a fight with Martinez, what other fight would the public care to see?

If he loses, there's nothing left to debate. Apart from a rematch with Floyd or a fight with Martinez, what other fight would the public care to see?

I think Arum knows this to have been just as true back then in the first negotiation, as it is now. If Manny fought Floyd at that time, it would be a wrap. Who else would be left to fight? How could they sell a Clottey fight or a Margarito fight(a virtual unknown to the public and a guy who many argue should have never been allowed to box again -- INCLUDING ROACH) and what would be the point of fighting Shane, or any of those guys for that matter? The minimal intrigue attached to any of these fights is directly connected to the fact that people want to see how good Manny really is; can Manny beat Mayweather; can Manny beat this or that guy worse than Mayweather did.

Arum made a smart business decision. He chose to pull out the negotiations so that he could milk that cash cow. Lets be serious, do you think Pacquiao vs. Marquez III, Pacquiao vs. Judah or Pacquiao vs. Bradley would even be viable options at this point if the Mayweather fight had occured? These are a total of 6 fights since the Mayweather negotiation(3 actual and 3 potential) that likely would have NEVER happened if Bob Arum did not pull away from original negotiations because HE was frustrated, even though it seemed that they were finally coming to a concession that worked for both sides.

At this point, Arum wins either way. If Mayweather and Pacquiao never fight, he's gotten the most he could out of Manny. If they do, he's milked Manny as long as he could, keeping the fights in-house to where he kept all promotional profits or only dealing with independents, who are so desperate for a payday and/or a shot at Pacquiao that they will bend over and sign whatever the fck he puts on a contract. Additionally, the Mayweather fight is EVEN BIGGER than it once was.

Manny certainly gives the impression of being a bit of a puppet in regards to both his commercial and sporting decisions.

Arum is the problem in this matter. Hopefully someone asks Floyd to produce the contract 'proof' he has to shed further light on this tired topic.

I'll be interested to see what the weirdo hardcore Pacquiao fans would say if his claim transpires to be legit.

Typical ******* comment. Lots of verbal feces and nothing related to Boxing. Why? Because these fools know nothing about Boxing. They are Pacfraud groupies.

So "easy" that Richardson was going to pull Mosley out, but kept telling SSM that the right hand was there all day with Pac?

So what is his point? He says he's the cash cow king so what's the problem? In the end does it hurt his ability to sell tickets? If you think not, then there is no fuk'n point! If you think does, then he should sue Bob for defamation because it affect his ability to make money selling tickets.

They're both ducking each other. PBF with the PED accusations. And Manny avoids any confrontation with him that can somehow come to an agreement. "I don't take care of that stuff, I just fight" bull**** that he spews out of his mouth. :nut

I am not talking about a few Mayweather haters on an internet message board. I am talking about the fans around the world. Not just hardcore fans, but all of the casual boxing fans. Mayweather vs Mosley was not the fight that people were screaming for at the time. It was obviously Mayweather vs Pac. If you bothered to read, I said that it WAS NOT A HORRIBLE FIGHT FOR MAYWEATHER TO TAKE. It made sense coming off of Shane's destruction of Margo. However, I sure as hell wasn't fooled by watching Mosley swing for the fences and connect with the human punching bag.

Martinez is promoted by Arum? What about Mosley back when Floyd was ducking him? Williams?

If Pac / Mayweather ever turned out to be a real fight, then it's a no brain'r that they'd do a sequel for another $100 Million. I also wouldn't mind seeing Pac try to take on Martinez. He's not any bigger than Margarito although Margarito could make a Heinz Ketchup commerical.
