Lead promotor would probably fall under Golden Boy Promotions. HBO was announcing it as a "Golden Boy Event". Either way, Arum won't go below 50/50 - he hates Mayweather.

    That's what I'm thinking too.

I do have a business degree but it's pure speculaton as to the breakdown of revenues. My guess would be HBO would want about 25% given the effort and the tranmission of the fight, wouldn't surprise me if it was considerably higher. My guess is floyd would likely end up with about 30% all said and done, which would be about 15M or so. After taxes maybe 10M. still a great payday no matter what number you come up with.

I'm sure there are. I've studied business myself for the last 4 years, I'm sure other people are informed on the business front aswell, but you try telling that to the OP, sitting here working out operating expenses for a fight of this scale while he is chucking speculated PPV figures in your face.

I think anything over a million dollars falls into a 50% tax bracket. I have an economics degree but not an expert with taxation.

Well I don't live in the US but I actually prepare hundreds of tax returns a year and our maximum tax rate is 43%.

Mayweather THEBOXER WILL NOT MAKE 30 MILLIONS for this fight. Mayweather PRODUCTIONS may make that amount of money. And the money will be divided among a lot of people who make the production possible. Regarding to the numbers, we will never know the truth. PPV numbers have been manipulated many times. But he made good money. At least good enough to pay 5 millions to IRS.

One way to get an idea of what when to Floyd before taxes is that the PPF-DLH fight generated 120M of which ODL received 43M that's about 36%, so Floyd getting about 30% of the gross seems about right. He may still have to pay a considerable amount of expenses with this $$, such as paying the trainer, etc.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. (refused to call him money may, it sounds like a clown's name) and Oscar Dela Hoya have made a lot of money. But a lot of people get confused between what they get pay as boxers and the sales of their promotions and producing companies. The money the companies get is to pay a lot of people. Yes, they get a lot of money too. But not all the money go to their pockets!!!

With the original post in my mind, if Floyd gets into any sort of financial difficulty in the future, then he must be completely stupid, so naive!

which comes from the part of the money that HBO gets. of the things you listed only the taxes will be paid by the fighters. The arenas money comes from gate sells and beer and stuff... the fighters have to pay for thier camps, trainers, cutman and such. Fights at this level dont really take on investors, that is normally the local small cards.

I said something about this not long ago and I got called a racist. Floyd has too many leeches around. HE needs to learn to live without so many guys kissing his ass. Not all black guys are his brothers.

Who do different Yanks pay different amounts and why is it more expensive to do Pay per View in Yankland than here. Any PPV on Sky is less than £14.

if the numbers are like that...pac should dump arum and get half of that sh*t.

and why the hell anyone is spending 90 percent of the time laying on the ground with some other dude? If I were an MMA fighter, I'd get my ass to the nearest boxing gym right away.
