Just finished watching the first ep of 24/7 and I haven't looked forward to a fight as much as this in my lifetime. I tried to watch it with an open mind about PBF, maybe I could see that most of it is a front and he's a good guy but FFS why does he go round flaunting the money he has at every opportunity? Doies anyone think it shows a real lack of class to do that? I mean, with all the poverty in the world you have a loudmouth ***** like him chucking money around at every opportunity. I'm not sure about this but does Floyd ever donate any of it to charity seeing as he likes throwing it around so much?
Not that I'm defending the ***** but I do think I remember him giving turkeys out last Thanksgiving in his hometown.
GRAND RAPIDS -- Floyd Mayweather Jr. is expected to officially announce Monday he will build a community center in his hometown. The boxing champion, considered to be the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world today, previously said he is ready to give back to Grand Rapids. If plans go accordingly, construction on a community center is expected to start in 18 months. Organizers say they already have a location in mind. Mayweather wants to build several community centers, including one in Las Vegas where he lives. The idea behind these centers is to put them in key areas of the city, then clean up the neighborhoods around them by adding businesses. A special VIP event is taking place inside the community complex at Martin Luther King Park in anticipation of Mayweather's big announcement at 6:15 p.m. A rally was held earlier in the afternoon for neighborhood children, which included free food, games, and face painting. Organizers say this is another example of Mayweather's generosity of giving back to his hometown. Grand Rapids Public School officials say Mayweather has donated more than $50,000 to athletic programs in recent years, as well as his time. One of the boxer's initiatives, through his foundation, is helping to stop the violence in the community - a subject high on the agenda of many of the community leaders in attendance Monday. "With the recent violence that's been happening throughout our city, I think it's positive that Floyd is doing this. He's reaching out to the people and to the community, to GRPS and the greater Grand Rapids area. I truly believe this will be a win-win situation for everyone," Harry Campbell, a GRPS board member told 24 Hour News 8.
BigReg Thanks for the info on Floyd's charity work. I think underneath it all he's got a heart beating with a lot of good in it. Dudes of all walks of life with lots of cash express it differently, Floyd likes to toss it around a bit. I would rather he didn't but I'm not gonna judge him soley on that and his other theatrics.
Big deal.Al Capone bought Thanksgiving turkeys toh yeah , I forgot, Capone is the hero to all the gangster wanna bees.
Watching that 24/7 it looks like theres a decent bloke in there somewhere. The way he spoke about his Mum and kids was cool, but then you see that front (and I think that all it is) he puts on round his crew and he looks like a real twat again.
If you are asking a question then use the "?". I'm fully aware of cultural differences but it doesn't excuse the behaviour for me. I actually think he's got a good heart there, but he's clearly ****ed up mentally. I kind of feel sorry for him in a way.
:good...unfortunatley the ignorant/haters on here will still be indenial regarding this side of Mayweather!
I guess Hatton's charity work alongside racists like Manning isn'tatsch ...just **** off and plan ways to deal with the sorrow come December 8th:thumbsup
