    [FONT=Trebuchet MS, Geneva, Ari]June 08, 2008. MediaTakeOut.com has just caught word of an EARTH SHAKING rumor. According to a number of sources within the UFC, Floyd Mayweather is set to be the first big name boxer to sign on as a mixed martial arts fighter.

    One UFC insider, who asked to remain nameless, told MediaTakeOut.com that the reported deal will net Floyd more than $200 million in cash and equity in teh UFC. Word is that the deal will be announced at a press conference set for this Thursday.

    If he does it i will be pissed, but if he can does it to save boxing and make boxers look superior to MMA, then I'm all for it. But I heard about this rumor also

    This is crap. Unless Floyd has been in serious MMA training for the last few months I wont believe it. He didnt even show interest on the reality show on BET with MMA fighters.

    He would have to really be craving a challenge to get into UFC, and Cotto couldn't even bring that out in him so I don't understand why fighting a scrub in UFC would.

    Strange thing though, I saw an interview with him and Ellerbe about a month ago where boxing is talked to the max and I remember Ellerbe was making a vague reference to Floyd doing something really big, something huge... that would suprise a lot of people blah, blah.

    Maybe that was the retirement, or maybe it was him going to UFC, or both. I don't see it though.

    Maybe he can make big money there fighting bums, maybe Dana White has offered him a huge some of $ to do this.

    ****ing hell I would be disapointed in Floyd if he made this move. This would be a real slap in the face to boxing, a sport he could have really made big waves with by fighting Cotto and helped in its struggle to stay on the map.

    Word on the street is that his first opponent will be Kimbo Slice at an unrestricted weight limit.
