"I've been dominating fighters since the 1990s. Like I always said, I'm closer to 40 than I am to 21, so I mean, if the fight happens, it happens, but I'm not out chasing no fighters. I'm happy with what my team has done, I'm happy with what HBO has done.

And, of course, I'm happy with my career. I want to give the fans a pleasing fight. I want to give the fans what they want. If the fans want to see me and Pacquiao fight, I want to give them that. But we must be on an even playing field in the sport of boxing.

Too many fighters are dying, and too many families are getting hurt in the sport of boxing. Just like Mosley, of course, he got in trouble in the past for being on performance enhancing drugs. So, I said, 'We can make the fight happen, Mosley, but both me and you have to take random blood and urine tests.'

Right now, USADA is back there. And that's what took me so long to come out here [for the press conference.] I had to give them a certain amount of urine. And then, in about 55 minutes from now, I've got to to let them draw blood just to show the world that I'm a clean athlete

I'm doing it the old fashioned way. I'm showing that I'm the best, and that I don't have to take no enhancement drugs, and I don't have to take nothing"

It's good to see the biggest name in the sport stand up for what he believes in, in an effort to improve the sport. I'm pretty confident that Pacquiao will step up and do his part to help clean up boxing.

To the pac fans that somehow translates into "i dont want to fight manny pacquiao"

how they get that from "just take a drug test and look at the era of sports we are in" is off the wall..i dont understand how they could really defend that in this day of sports where athletes are consistently taking peds

even if he aint on sh1t he should just wanna take it as it makes a good name for boxing...the media presents it that way as do the fans that appreciate the drug testing

I'm glad to hear that the second biggest name in the sport wants to fight the biggest name in the sport.

Hopefully the commission can do something about this drug testing to satisfy this second biggest name in the sport.

God bless Floyd Mayweather..I honestly think he needs to get serious consideration for Times "Man of the Year" for being on the forefront of strict steroid testing in major professional sports. It's clear to me that Floyd cares deeply about the sport of boxing and the fighters that participate in it.

Its a shame that u think so positive yet pac fans will tell u how dumb u r for believing that..

I also believe Floyd..I think it started with the negotiations but when he saw he could make some sort of a difference he approached that..plus it gets him recognition and with that comes money....

the reason he is doing it doesn't matter IMO...What matters is that it is good for sports, not just boxing...:good

Can someone help me find a link to the USADA random blood testing results for Floyd's previous 40 fights? I'm usually a web searching whiz but I'm totally clueless on this one. Any help would be gladly appreciated.

Team Mayweather has had private conversations with the NSAC. The NSAC even monitored the testing for this fight to see how they could improve on their testing protocols. What Money May is doing is raising awareness, leading by example. The man just wants to leave the sport in a better state than he found it. That's admirable. Pacquiao seems like an upstanding guy, so I'm sure he'll take up the challenge and do his part.

    zzzz..

if the blood tests keep coming up negative, what's the point? Clean up what? There's nothing to clean up if it ain't dirty.

no...but i can give u many cases OF WHERE FIGHTERS NEGOTIATE A CONTRACT STIPULATION...:good WHERE ONE FIGHTER WANTS THE OTHER FIGHTER TO DO SOMETHING..REMATCH, ADDITIONAL DRUG TEST, MONETARY PENALTY FOR ADDED WEIGHT, ETC...THATS NOT HARD..I BELIEVE AA IS REQUIRED TO ADDITIONALLY TEST IN HIS CONTRACT BUT I COULD BE WRONG....

STOP TRYING TO ACT LIKE FLOYD IS CHANGING THE RULES..HE IS MODIFYING THEM USING A CONTRACT STIPULATION..PERFECTLY LEGAL IN THE SPORT AS LONG AS IT INVOLVES NOTHING ILLEGAL OR AGAINST THE RULES:deal DRUG TESTING IS NOT ILLEGAL NOR AGAINST THE RULES:deal

TRY AGAIN ON WHAT YOU WERE TRYING TO REFERENCE...MAYBE U SHOULD WORD IT DIFFERENT OR TELL ME I DONT KNOW ANYTHING CUZ I BACKED UP FLOYDS SIDE OF THE ARGUMENT:good

There's a first time for everything. If you see an exisiting problem and you get an idea for a solution, why sit on it just because you didn't come up with it earlier in your career? It's better late than never.
