It will keep fighters from using them. The fact that there isn't really any sort enforcement to keep fighters clean makes it easy for them to cheat. If there is some sort of regulation and enforcement on it, fighters will be less likely to cheat. (in fear of being caught)

I've got nothing against better testing methods as long as it doesn't interfere with an athletes mindset and training. :good I just think it's hilarious that Floyd all of a sudden became the messiah of drug-free boxing when about to face the P4P #1, 7 titles in 7 weight classes, and Fighter of the Decade in Manny Pacquiao. :yep

Floyd doesn't give a **** about cleaning up the sport, it's just a mind game. That said, if Manny knows he's clean and is confident that he will win he should put his ego aside, shut up, take the tests, and win.

If Floyd gives in and Manny wins without testing there will always be questions, right or wrong.

If Manny gives in and wins he clears his name AND gets to put a beating on Floyd at the same time. Double win.

So what's the downside to Manny of shutting Floyd up by taking the tests, and then shutting him up by beating him, which he clearly believes he can do?

Outside of pure ego, there is no sensible reason for Manny not to call Floyd's bluff and take the tests.

Why didnt Mayweather care about cleaning up the sport before Pacquiao became a relevant threat?

Are you pretending to believe that's Floyd's reason? Or do you really believe this crock of chicanery?

    Frankly I don't know what's worse. :-(

I wish Floyd would've shown such concern about the sport, fairness and fighter's families and their wellbeing when the chose to fight a small Marquez weighing over the limit instead of doing the right thing and trying to lose the weight. That is as dangerous as anything in this sport, Gatti-Gamache a prime example.

Floyd is a hypocrite, I don't believe a word he is saying about this being about him wanting to clean up the sport. This all started with the Pacquaio allegations started by his father and it all has to do with Pacquiao and getting an edge over him.

You're right. It's a game, whether mind game, or some other game that Floyd wants played, it's still just a game, not this crusade to ****in clean up the sport. However, Manny has had previous experiences with these blood tests and the results weren't enticing to say the least. He lost as well after them to Morales.
Nothing that the Floyd duo didn't already put in the minds of those who couldn't think for themselves.
That's good, but why does Manny have to put up with the caprices and whims of Floyd Junior? Because he says so? He aint bigger than boxing. Al Haymon would like everyone to believe so, but he ****in ain't.
Don't ever belittle the power of ego inside that ring. Floyd as well as every top fighter knows fully well it is ego that keeps one coming back to dish some after absorbing hell. Do you think Floyd's ego wasn't in the fore when he came back stinging after getting humiliated like never before in that second round? What makes a fighter get up in the middle of the night to run, work out? It's his ego wanting to be preserved.

Floyd asking the current pound-for-pound king to acquiesce to his ridiculous drug tests is tantamount to asking Pacquiao to go in the ring against him wearing a tutu and bra. You can say Pacquiao can use that to motivate himself further, but really, do you think he won't curse himself first for allowing himself the indignity in the first place?

Before he can be taken seriously as cleaning up the sport, he has to come clean on a certain issue himself.

I doubt anyone truely believes that floyd is doing this for the 'good of the sport'.
