You can say "those other guys have also lost rounds" but those other guys have also beaten ATG fighters which is something they can fall back on and say "yes I lost rounds to lesser fighters but look what I did when I stepped up to the plate with my A game".

Meanwhile Floyd lost those rounds to not great quality opposition and what does he have to fall back on? A great performance against Gatti? Against Corrales? its nothing compared

Yeah, out of my picks, Pea would be the biggest doubt.
If I had ODLH vs PBF at 55-45 favor of ODLH, I would probably say Pac vs Pea 55-45 also.

Both matches can go either way. I have no problem people saying PBF wins vs prim ODLH in an UD as I have no problem saying Pea wins vs Pac in UD also. I just favor it the other way - that is all.

    Ray Leonard 2
    Thomas Hearns 2

Any chance anyone can tell me who voted for Floyd to beat the above guys...because unless they voted by mistake, they may go on ignore.

I would give Mayweather very little chance of beating the 3 names, but there are other guys on the list that I would consider huge favourite's up against Mayweather who have received a good number of votes also. Crazy.

How the hell would Floyd beat Leonard, Hearns and Robinson? I want a detailed analysis backed with solid arguments.

In their prime I think all of that list beats Floyd.

To be fair Mayweather might not be as big as Robinson, Leonard and Hearns. However he is by no means small for a welterweight.

I certain that if we had as much film/video on Nicolino Locche, Benny Leonard,
Wilfred Benitezand Willie Pep. In their primes it would not be too hard to find fottage of them being hit and hurt as well. No boxer is unhittable.

The fact remains; Robinson, Leonard, Hearns are all BIG welters. Lets be honest here, these guys all picked up titles @ 160 and even higher in the case of Leonard and Hearns. Robinson was beating the LHW champion on the cards before succumbing to the intense heat.

OTOH, Floyd is still a lightweight.

The fact that the Ring had to pull these guys out of their asses as guys who would beat Floyd only speaks to Floyd's greatness.

I'd favor Floyd over everyone else on that list except for Duran and Whitaker - and those fights would be CLOSE...

Yeah, what the F??? No specific weight classes listed or the year of the fighter who would've "kicked Maywweather's butt". I mean, come one, you can't answer or debate this at all... I voted that Mayweather WOULD DEFEAT Pryor, Armstrong, Whitaker, de la Hoya, and Arguello.

Oscar's only on that list b/c he owns the mag. Mayweahter had plenty more to give in that fight and the idea that an essentially one handed fighter could have beaten any version of mayweather is rediculous.

Sandy Saddler I'll buy but I don't know enough about him to be comfortable saying he'd beat mayweather.

Alexis Arguello as much as I love him is not a big enough fighter to give Mayweather problems. 140 or 147 clearly weren't his best wieghts. The 130-135 lb version of mayweather is pretty scarry so I don't think I could even give him the nod in that fight.

Years ago I was of the belief that Pernell would have school mayweather but I've seen a lot from Mayweather since then. Maybe I'd go with Money in this one but it would be close. I think Mayweather's size, power and techiquel foundations would probably give him an edge in this one. But **** pernell has done somethings that until I saw him do them I didn't think were humanly possible...so again I'm left with not being able to pick a clear winner here.

These guys I would definitely put money on to beat Mayweather:

    Ray Robinson
    Ray Leonard
    Thomas Hearns
    Aaron Pryor
    Henry Armstrong
    Roberto Duran

You could probably throw a prime Julio Caesar Chavez in that mix as well.
