07-15-2010, 04:52 PM c/p July 15th, 2010 By Jason Kim: Top Rank appears to be having fun with the mid-July deadline that Bob Arum has given for Floyd Mayweather Jr. to decide whether hell accept the contract proposal that Arum sent over to Mayweather last week for a fight against Manny Pacquiao on November 13th. At the Top Rank website theres a Money time clock counting down how much time Mayweather has before the July 15th deadline on Friday. For Mayweather to speak up an save the fight with Pacquiao, hes got until midnight on Friday to take the fight. If not, then Arum is prepared to move on and match Pacquiao up against either Antonio Margarito or Miguel Cotto next. Arum isnt saying which fighter will end up getting the lucky Pacquiao bout, as hes kept it pretty quiet about who will be the one. Then: *****s: "who's Bob Arum to dictate to Floyd when to negotiate" :rofl Now: Floyd's camp reserved a date and venue ( May 5, 2012-even without negotiations ) to fight the little fella. *****s: " Pacquiao is ducking atsch At least Bob Arum is more reasonable to give Floyd time just to negotiate . Unlike Floyd, "We reserved the date and venue, sign the contract or else you're ducking.:rofl
What was in the so called contract? I remember Bob saying no comment when asked if Manny had agreed to the testing at that time.
Very true. These floydettes act as if the two scenarios are the same. One was a ploy to get Floyd to respond more then anything, since at the time Floyd was pretty hushg hush about ANYTHING, The other is Floyd saying "This is when and where we will fight." Anyone pulling this stunt witha fighter of pretty near equal drawing power, is looking to make a mess. It's one thing when it's a major draw dictating all terms vs. a scrub or mere contender. But not like this. And of course, Floyd's ****in dumb as **** fanboys act as if nothing was wrong with that, depite comparing it to Arum's countdown clock, which they thought was wrong at first. atsch
Floyd had just fought Mosley the month previously and he's notorious for big turnarounds between fights. Mayweather's given Pac 7 months preparation and an invitation to begin negotiations. Arum, SUPPOSEDLY, sent Floyd a contract, without negotiations taking place.
