The kid has power but Floyd is the most elusive boxer in the ring from 140 to 154....Canelo can pack a cannon but after misfires he will run out of gas...:tired..He will not have the discipline to wait and will gas himself out trying to hit a home run :smoke
I wonder what Floyd's strategy will be in this fight. He WAS getting hit a little bit by Cotto and then a few times by Guerrero, I think Canelo is faster and quicker than both those guys. I'm very interested in seeing if Floyd will stand in front of Canelo, or use lateral movement more. He stood in front of Canelo, but employed a mixed strategy vs Guerrero. I rewatched the Guerrero fight last night. I started thinking that this fight with Canelo may be a close one. The reason being, a lot of Floyds shots didn't seem to have much on them. And Canelo is a lot stronger than Guerrero. Floyd, 100% dominated the fight, but didn't have the fire power to deter Guerrero from pressing forward at all. I think he may have a hard time stopping Canelo from pushing him back behind the jab. I'm still favoring Floyd, but just thinking this is more interesting a match up now, after I rewatched the Guerrero fight. And Floyd is 36yrs old. It's a magic age for great boxers losing in the past. Ya never know. This could be the fight we see the great one fall.
I felt like mayweather got tagged a lot during the Cotto fight but I re watched it recently and he really didn't get hit that much. Thats the standards with mayweather though. If he loses 1-2 rounds people say he looked unimpressive. I'm guilty of doing it myself
We all are bro. It is almost like you want to happen so you see it at the time. I think Cotto taught him a lesson.....Floyd does not like to get hit :smoke
Who does?? But seriously, Floyd is a lot tougher than people give him credit for. I think he is embarrassed, more than anything when he gets caught.
Betting on KO of the best defensive fighter of this era is not only stupid but reeks of desperation.:deal Learn something about the sport or log off.
PBF hurt his hand in that fight in a round in which hie was turning it up on Guerrero around round 8 or so. Had he not hurt his hand he would have ****ed Guerrero up.
I think he hurt his hand in the 10th, I could be wrong. The round where he was closest to finishing Guerrero was I believe the 8th. I think he could've finished him, don't get me wrong. But you gotta agree that the majority of his shots, were landing clean, but just didn't seem to be deterring Guerrero at all. Maybe I'm underestimating Guerrero's toughness.
Shane caught him on the button, Floyd did exactly the right thing to do in that situation.. kept his composure as mentioned and then actually ended the round on top.
Guerreo is a rugged fighter with a sturdy chin, he took some good shots from Berto like candy. I never predicted PBF to stop him I thought he would win by wide UD. I think if PBF didn't hurt his hand he would have beat him up badly not stopped him but cut him to pieces.
I watched the Floyd-Oscar fight again and two instances stood out where Floyd got decked flush with monster right hands. Both times seemed to shake Floyd a bit but he took it well and Oscar doesn't have that much pop in his right hand (never has). The second right (round 11) was the blueprint Nazim and Shane used to set up their right hand. But that first right hand from Oscar (in the fifth, I believe) was a beautiful overhand right that landed heavy. Canelo is younger than Oscar while Floyd has gotten older. I wouldn't be surprised if he's able to land like that and, this time, it does significant damage.
are you still hurt that Pac got KTFO? :huh ATG dont get Laid out and put to sleep like Pac did...:yep
