The short sightedness of some fans is alarming...the JBC have a built in rule to prevent the kind "in house" fights that are a problem to the sport.

    That is incorrect...!!!

It is stated in almost all of the [United States] Commissions' Protocol, Procedure, Rules and Regulations Handbooks that a promoter "must" include a provision in their contracts that state:

If monetary compensation is paid to manager; check / initial here:

Some states require that the combatant list the name of manager, manager's business address & contact information and/ or issue a certified copy of the manager / combatant contract when applicable.

    EXAMPLE:

    This content is protected
    This content is protected

    MODEL BOUT CONTRACT (3rd Draft)

    5th paragraph of contract:

Should Boxer desire Manager to be paid directly by Promoter, Boxer must initial here _____, and the Manager must be currently licensed or have a manager’s license application on file with the Commission.

Then the manager pays the boxer his share of the purse. Many combatants use this approach, especially the ones that also have a promoter's license (As did Chavez Jr).

The manager pays the combatant his earnings to the combatant's business (promotional) account.

They are the epitome of monopolies, are they not? With the same people running, owning and endorsing the respective companies and no other competition on offer. Or I am seriously missing your point?

All the haters are thrilled about the lead suits by Oscar and Arum and they are not looking at the counter suit that Haymon is gonna bring. That will be the knockout punch.

32 teams in the NFL = not a monopoly. 30 teams in the NBA = not a monopoly. 30 teams in the MLB = not a monopoly. 30 teams in the NHL = not a monopoly. UFC is a monopoly.

It's against the law to own two teams in the same sport; so there are at least 30 owners and 30 companies competing at any given time.

I get what you mean, but all of those sports in themselves are a monopoly in my opinion still, as there are no competing governing bodies or organisations. Teams within an organisation are the same as fighters within a company as I see it.

In Britain too it is against the law to own more than one team in the same sport, but people get around it. Mike Ashley (Newcastle FC) owns part of Rangers, and the Charlton owner also owns FC Carl Zeiss Jena and AD Alcorcon. People find ways to bypass rules. Football for example has been proven to be a monopoly where Fifa has been exposed - and this is with more governing bodies and leagues than NFL/NBA/etc.etc. where only a small amount participate.
