DQ only way to go period. He pulled rope down and pushed fighter out of ring. It was intentional, wasn’t just grappling and accidental. Can’t have bush league moves like that. This is boxing not ufc. Real chump Montana Love

If the ref deemed this a push which ended in one out of the ring and he is unhurt. he can take a point away.

''In the event that a boxer falls from the ring after an illegal action from his rival:If he can continue, the referee must call the offender to the center of the ring and take a point away from them. If there is a cut or injury because of it, the referee must take away two points.''

If Spark was injured then 2 points (As per WBA site)

    Yet....

Most disqualifications happen for repeated intentional fouling such as headbutting, low blows, rabbit punches, biting and the like.[1] Typically, a referee will first verbally warn offenders or direct a point deduction first before disqualifying a boxer. However, contestants may be disqualified without warning for particularly egregious conduct such as kicking a downed opponent, hair pulling, or using loaded gloves. Secondly, violation of other rules by a fighter's corner, such as cornermen entering the ring or striking the opponent can result in disqualification even though such behavior is not strictly under the fighter's control. A boxer may also be disqualified if the referee deems that he or she is not fighting, or holding excessively.

Disqualification occurs solely at the referee's discretion and no fouled contestant is automatically entitled to such a result.

So it's at the referees discretion in this case, an egregious act I guess.

So either way, the ref was right.

I didn't see the fight, just the controversy afterwards. I guess if a superstar like Mayweather did this to someone like Ortiz, and he landed on his feet, there would be no disqualification you'd imagine.

Stop making excuses Spark went to his opponents backyard and was beating him in a fight where nobody picked him to win. Give Sparks his props

Still, he saw that he was going over, and he put his elbow and his face and made sure he went over the top backwards. Yes, he landed on his feet, well that's a good thing. What if he didn't and landed on his head? That was intentional and reckless endangerment, they're boxers, not pro wrestlers.

I'm not making excuses. Didn't you see me say love was frustrated and was probably going to lose anyway. I didn't like the dq and wanted the fight to continue. I'm not bashing sparks I have nothing against him. He showed up and showed out.
