Haye was looking to fight Rahman long before the Toney fight, he was supposed to be his first HW fight which ended up being Bonin for whatever reason.

Because he is a fat middleweight? Haye is moving UP, he needs to fight actual heavyweights if he wants to get prepared to have a shot at Wlad.

”I spoke to the Klitschkos about December 13 but they wanted more time. We would have been up for it but David is not yet ranked high enough by the IBF,” he is quoted as saying by The Mirror.

Wait it out another month and you get what you want David...

Barrett did lose to Mesi but it was a disputed decision. Barrett was the first to knock Mesi down if I'm not mistaken.

Barrett was knocked all over the place by Wladimir with 5 or 6 knockdowns & at the end Monte was a bloody mess. That was much earlier in his career though and David Haye hasn't fought anybody nearly as good or as big a puncher as Klitschko. Edge in experience to Barrett since he's fought a few top 10 Heavys.

Let's be honest about it my American brothers, if we can't have one of our own at the top then lets get behind the Brit.

Surely its gotta be better then watching all these Polish Plumbers and Russian robots hugging for ten rounds right!

Lets be blunt........Monte Barret in the grand schemes of things is an average heavyweight! BUT he is a fighter who has an abilty to expose fighters coming up who many at that time think will go onto achieve elite status.....and at one time or another has exposed them.

Barrett is around the 12 to 16 marker in terms of rankings for the divisions big boys......so for Haye this is a decent fight...in fact a very interesting fight.

I personally think Haye will Ko a fit mean barret in 4 rounds.

I also believe that Haye is the 3rd best heavyweight out there.....but of course he needs to prove that.

My only contention with Haye is the fact the he has chosen to remain inactive for around 8 months or so. I know he has set up his promotions and had a bay with his wife BUT nothing is better that remaining active.

Anyhow it will be a good fight.....both will go for it....and it will answer alot of questions of how good Haye and Barret are.
