£30 is pretty cheap for a per diem when you consider he has to dine out in London and this is supposed to be a major promotion. If you remember this fight was plagued with low balling on purse offers to prospective opponents. A couple of the fighters approached called the offer insulting.

The thing about a shitty room though he should have expected. Promoters across the pond are legendary amongst the boxers in the U.S. for getting crap accomodations.

But complaining about it at this stage is a little after the fact. Barrett's management should have negotiated better terms in his contract.

As Steve Bunce pointed out, it's the same hotel Haye stayed in when he was fighting Enzo Mac at the start of the year...and I doubt Haye would book himself into a total dive.

I wonder what kind of treatment old time fighters used to get! ;-)

Maybe if he's not too hungry, Monte will have enough anger to pound Haye! (If he's not starved below the HW limit!)

I would have though that a pro HW fighter would eat a more customized diet before a big fight.

Not to worry...as soon as the dollars 'safe haven' status wears off in 2009 and the world comes to the realization that our $2T stimulus package is all 'borrowed' money, the pound will be buying $2.50.
