How the **** did he avoid mosley! He called him out and shane avoided him!, then shane later on demolishes margarito and calls out mayweather and the fight got made

And mosley was his second option seein as he was negotiating with pacquiao until he walked away from the fight because he would not agree to random blood testing (which correct me if im wrong shane was happy to do)

I just shot down 90 percent of his argument with FACTS, not opinions

But i agree mayweather isent top 10 welterweight. He ranks highly because of his achievments over many weight classes not just welterweight

    Thread?

He's obviously an ATG and arguable/probable GOAT at 130 (Arguello has a word there).

But he's correct in that he's not a Top 10 Welterweight. Duran beat prime SRL (arguable #2 WW all-time) and Carlos Palomino (HOF WW, Lineal Champ 1976-79). How many top ten 147 lists you seen him cut?

Not a top ten all time at WW his fourth weightclass. I would agree with that his body of work there doesn't merit that position. At 130 he is most def a top 10 fighter.

He is correct, but who in their right mind would consider him top 10 at 147 anyway?

    Fixed.

Who challenges him? Only Arguello imo in the history of the SFW division. People in their right mind would also pick him to beat him based on styles alone. Floyd looked, acted and was the part at 130. Took out a great operator in Hernandez (Lineal Champ) and trashed undefeated and favored Corrales (No. 1), with wins over Manfredy (No. 2), Chavez (No. 4), Vargas (No. 10).

Floyd really isn't subject to criticism here.

Noone puts him in the top 10, anyway.

Plus, it's wrong to say he avoided Mosley. Prior to their eventual May 2010 clash, Floyd on two occassions did try and make fights with him, but it was Mosley who passed rejected.

Based on body of work no doubt Azumah Nelson tops him as well as Arguello. Probably also Chavez.

I`m not interested in the whole who ducked who bull**** because it means I`m arguing **** that I don`t know for sure, only the fighter himself knows for sure & let him live with that if its true, I`m only interested in seeing the best fight the best..... but all in all the writer is likey correct, fmj probably isn`t a top 10 welterweight. He hasn`t fought & beat enough good fighters to prove he belongs.

What your saying is true.... but I`ve got Arguello over him as far as greatness at the weight goes & Chavez over him in a head to head at the weight.

147 is not his peak weight.

He is much more limited at the higher weights than at the lower weights.

He is only able to perform because of how skilled he actually is.

The writer is probably correct in that Mayweather is not a top 10 Welter of all time because like so many in this forum have already stated, his body of work just does not stack up against some of the greats who fought in the division. However, Mayweather's overall body of work from 112-154 does put him in elite company. Whenever you say things like a fighter ducked this or that guy, or waited for them too slow down, your argument always loses a little credibility (unless you can prove it), and begins to sound a bit bias IMO. And furthermore if a fighter waits for someone to slow down or fade before he fights them, does he not slow down as well?

As a WW he is somewhere in the top 100.
130lbs he could be a top 10 guy.
