I wouldn't say this at all. Leonard was a master at the whole game and had guts. Floyd does not have the guts and heart to make Duran quit. I just meant he would outbox him. But make him quit. No way.

 

I would've loved to see Ray Robinson in there against this animal Montreal Duran. Leonard's a featherfist by comparison. Duran's head flies into the 16th row.

 

Call me a *****, but I don't think Duran has the style to beat Floyd. 15 rounds most likely wouldn't change anything, since Floyd never has shown any sign of gassing in 43 bouts. Don't get me wrong though, even though I think a prime Floyd beats a prime Duran just means i think Floyd is the better boxer, while Duran is unarguably the greater boxer.

 

Duran is flat out more effective and skilled. He's just better. All there is to it.

 

Floyd didn't need the guts and heart. All he'd need to do was box and frustrate him like Ray did. Duran quit flat out.

I'm going to go against the grain and say Floyd wins. Lets not forget why Leonard fought Duran the way he did. Floyd would never sit there and bang with Duran like Leonard did. Also we saw Duran get out boxed by Benitez. I think Floyd has the styles advantage over Duran and would out box him.

 

This the best version of Duran before he started going flabby I'd favor him over any welter, but only Montreal Duran. Fight wouldnt last 15 either.

 

Mayweather wins and wins easily over the most overrated boxer ever.

 

A couple things, it's tough to say how Floyd does against legendary boxers because he's never fought anyone of that caliber. One major point though, there's absolutely no evidence that Floyd's chin is bad, period. The most trouble he's been in was when he took those four right hooks from Mosely early in the second round. He not only survived more than half the round without going down, he refused treatment in his corner came out and then proceeded to bust Mosely's ass the rest of the fight. That's actually evidence that he had a decent chin.

He will never fight anyone as good as Duran or Leonard but the people he has fought he completely dominates. He rarely gets hit with a good shot and you can count on one hand the times he's been seriously hurt (and you don't need every finger). What we do know is that Duran and Leonard fought against others on par with some of Floyd's opponents. Some of those opponents managed competitive fights.

All in all it's a tough call and I think entirely dependent on whether Duran can penetrate Floyd's defense and whether Floyd can hurt Duran significantly enough with his counters. If Duran can't penetrate the defense and Floyd can land hard accurate counters, the fights may look like every other Mayweather fight. That being said, out of Duran, Leonard and Hearns, I think Hearns is the worst match up for Pretty Boy Floyd.

 

Name one fighter that Mayweather beat that's better than Duran.

 

This,I know people hate to go against ATG's. But Mayweather would no fight Durans fight like Leonard did, he would potshot Durant through 15 rounds,I know Duran is one of the greats,but Mayweather gets em.

I choose Floyd. His impenetrable shoulder roll defense would deflect Duran's heavy hands, even if it were made of plaster. Floyd wins by UD through potshots and sneaky uppercuts and right straight behind the shoulder roll.


But at the end of the day, Floyd's style would win in every fantasy fights because of his pure skill. In real time, this will be a great fight ala Cotto-Floyd. In reality, Duran is untouchable in the WW.

 

Leonard hit much harder, was faster, just as smart, and much braver than Floyd ever was. Floyds best shot would only **** off the iron chinned Duran. Duran would neutralize Floyds speed and force him to fight. Duran wasnt stalking Leonard he was cutting off the ring and connected many, many times Duran didnt cut off the ring in the rematch and he came in outta shape thats why he lost. Montreal Duran took Leonard soul searching Floyd would get outworked, outgunned, and overpowered by Duran this aint no Ricky Hatton. Floyd would get hurt to the body and dropped several times and retaliate getting bloodied and stopped and brutally kod in the process. 154 Duran is the only version Floyd might outbox as Benitez did, but not Montreal Duran.
