Yes, I am sorry to say I didn't watch the fight and therefore am not a real fan. I mean, **** the Psych paper I have due tomorrow to help get my doctorate. And even more so, what the hell is my problem dropping $50 to watch a boxing match this weekend!!? No real fan would ever do that....

Point is, I think your accusation is a wild jump to a crazy conclusion.

100 percent agree on all of this. This was an EXCELLENT fight - two solid pros, competing at a high level, in a give and take battle where BOTH guys hit the canvas.

And while this has probably been the best fight I've seen on VS. since they started their show last year, they have had quite a few decent cards, and it is VERY much on the level of what ESPN shows, and in several instances, better.

When I was watching this fight I was thinking to myself "now THIS is why I LOVE boxing." It was that kinda fight!:yep

    You got to be joking.

Kid Diamond vs Miguel Huerta, Omar Nino vs Brian Viloria, Pavlik vs Pierre, Solis vs Grigsby.

Some title fights, some contenders, not a bad network at all.

The WEC btw is almost always more entertaining than the UFC events, and they have one of the best fighters out their in Urijah Faber.

    Versus (formerly OLN)

..another plus for Versus over ESPN is no Teddy Atlas, and a plus over FSN is no stupid ass Chris Rose, John Sally, and fat James Toney.

Uh, I agree with you!!

Seriously - every one of those fights was decent. I'd add Pavlik's destruction of McKart in there too. Sure, there were a few HW stinkers featuring Tye Fields and Rahman - which are probably the fights these naysayers watched, btw - but overall, the quality of the Versus fights were at least as good as typical ESPN fare.

... the ****ing idiot comment wasn't towards you.. it was towards Toopretty and his derogatory remarks about the networks boxing cards.

Forgot Mckart vs Pavlik was on Vs... that was a great fight as well.

So you're more of a fan because you watched this one?

What about people who just didn't have any interest in this card looking from the outside, that makes them lesser fans and nuthuggers because of it?

Guess what, I caught the card, it was a very good scrap even though you are overreacting, but I wouldn't have blamed someone if they weren't interested OR EVEN didn't have the ****ing channel in it outright and therefore missed it, that wouldn't make them lesser fans, but why am I bothering with someone who is content with praising mediocrity to begin with half the time and then acts like people who don't praise the mediocrity are what is wrong with boxing?

There are plenty of cable cards on ESPN or VS that didn't seem like they'd be much but turned out to be highly entertaining, I've missed several, so have you. Grow up you little ****.

Exactly, he also bitches at people who call a true glass jaw, such as that Bernard Dunne was it, as an example of one of the many problems with the sport right now.

Guess he doesn't understand comparable analysation and then the exploitative side of boxing politics.

No I'm calling them so-callled fans because they basically come on here to shill their fighters, much the way you do.

Anyone who thought Montiel vs Melendez was going to be a mediocre fight isn't much of a fan of boxing.

..about analyzation... **** that ****. I'm in it to enjoy the fights, not sit here and try to analyze a bunch of hypothetical bull**** fights like you do that won't ever happen.

If you called that a very good scrap, I don't know why you're a fan of the sport.

..and I'm not out of line to assume people who'd post on a BOXING specific message board should actually be fans of... umm.. boxing.

You can be a fan in different ways. You are broadstroaking here. Some are analytical, some are in it just to watch brutal displays. It's this way with any sport. Your view is not the only view, and those of us who didn't watch it for whatever reason doesn't mean we are "so-called" fans.

Most people dont keep guys at 112 pounds or whatever weight Montiel the biker shorts tight ass trunks wearing boxer fights at. There arent Montiel fans. I cant watch his stupid ass for wearing gay trunks. But he is a fighter and a gutsy one with skill. Melendez I dont know **** about and is probably nothing special at ****ing all. And by the way. Marquez Mabuza on showtime probably takes a huge **** on the fight you watch.

He is most defintely not articulate in the slightest and is in it for just the give and take. Yeah we like that ****, but we like SKILL too. Every fight dont have to be a ****ing war. Two bum ass fighters can duke it out and put on a show..that **** does not thrill me...This goof needs to get a grip.
