I am a boxing fan first, I support certain guys like any other fan does and call it like I see it.

Some people don't know a whole lot about sub-featherweight boxing, but that doesn't mean they don't know immense amounts about featherweight and above, it could be that the lower weight classes don't interest them, could be that they haven't been exposed to it enough. I am not going to call them lesser fans either way, neither would I call someone a lesser fan for not having any interest in this particular fight.

Has nothing to do with thinking that it would be mediocre when you just don't have any interest in it, which is perfectly fine.

Some of us seek to understand this fine sport better, all facets, fights, match ups, head to head, politics, ability, evolution. Ignorance like you just admitted that you don't care about a deeper look, but then you **** on those who do and even want to insist that because they missed a fight for whatever reason, that they are lesser than you because you watched it.

I love consistent action, but I get bored with the type that lacks a measure of defence. I didn't enjoy any overrated Gatti war for example, that was 2nd tier unrefined violence, not a beautiful/tactical/thrilling etc. battle.

I also didn't really like Rafa-Israel, a little defence would have made that even better, especially for so called P4P elite's.

You think you're on to something, when you aren't, you're just a monument of the greater problem at hand.

Well, I am a HUGE football fan. But I won't watch Duke vs Temple when its on. Sometimes you weight other things you are fans of (other sports, other interests) against the level of excitement you are gonna get from something else you are a fan of and decide to do something different. You watch alot of boxing I take, but that doesn't make you more of a fan, just perhaps looking for something that others are not looking for.

 

100% correct, vs. is batting a great percentage for the yerar, what they lacked in quantity they make up in quality. I don't necessarily agree with your point about not watching the fight as '07 really spoiled the boxing fan, but I hear you none the less. This was a terrific fight and Montiel showed me an offense I didn't know he possessed. As for Melendez, I will definitely look forward to his next fight, I know he'll bring it.

Don't forget, Urbano Antillon and Vanes Martirosyan both put on excellent performances. I'm glad I finally got to see Vanes fight, that dude has a TON of potential. As for Urbano, he looks like a lock to be a challenger for a LW title, superb perforamnce against his first southpaw opponent.

I seen Montiel fight plenty. I seen him fight Gonzalez..WTF are you talking about. If I choose not to watch him b/c one of his balls might slip out of his tiny ass shorts that are skin tight like a ****ing man bikini. That is my homophobic train of thought. I watch any type of boxing not matter who fights. If it is a guy or guys I like I watch it. If it is somebody I have no interest in, I dont. I used to like Jeff Lacy fight then he started to irritate the **** out of me. SO.....

 

Let's get Nervous' little buddy Lance Uppercut in here to seal the deal, they are pretty much the same poster, only Lance chooses to focus all of his efforts of down playing Floyd Mayweather these days and Nervous throws out whatever he attempts to come up with.

 

STFU...just b/c those fights dont get talked about dont mean nobody has seen them and thought they were good. There are a milliion ****ing fightst that I seen that I dont bring up SO. I take note of a good fighter that I see as rising star. Or I point out a clearly overhyped bum of a fighter that is basically being hyped by idiots like yourself that is PRO the LITTLE GUY. Let me ask you Nervous -

What gets around more press, big Hollywood films or Independant films? Big commercial corporate acts or underground music acts?

That's the comparison to big names and to relatively obscure to the average fan lower weight class guys, what do you honestly expect?

Most people don't even know much about a potential genius fighter in Cristian Mijares, who has the potential to be a level or two above your Montiel type guys and I don't expect them to know much about him, even though he obliterated the poster boy to the casual fan for the lower classes in Arce.

But you act surprised and call everyone who didn't see it 'so called' fans and think you're onto something significant in train of thought to a broader problem, you aren't, go to bed and try again some other time with a more open minded and respectful outlook. You come on strong like this, expect some backlash.

We also aren't in the mood for mediocrity to be pushed, so please don't defend your favourite china chin jokes when the p4p chinned ratings come up next time.:hey
