Wow, Arce Ko'd Trejo? I think you mean Rojas.

It wasn't luck though, it's boxing. Arce has a punch, and even though he was losing the fight, he has the equalizer.

Boxing is never luck, it's circumstance, skill, heart, and power.

Yeah, I thought it was a good quote when he said it, because honestly it's true. I think Montiel isn't that hard to KD, but did you see what he did when he went down?

Got his senses together, got on his knee, watched the count go to 9, got up and then followed directions.

If a lot of fighters followed what he did, they would be able to successfully get out of the round from a quick KD, but too many guys get up all wobbled, don't recover, and get TKO 5 seconds later.

Montiel was 1 miunute and two seconds from a UD and in a war:good Apparently the judges saw it more one sided with 107-100 | 107-100 | 107-101 cards. It seemed a little closer than that, though Montiel was definitely leading, with the hooks and upper's attack:yep

Great action from both men, back to back 10-8 rounds, one for Montiel, and one for Melendez. These two were there to FIGHT and WIN:happy

It was a close fight for me, Melendez did give Montiel a tough fight but the latter still pulled as the better one. I thought Melendez was just a sloppy boxer at the top of the rounds but did some good shots that really surprises Montiel in the later stages of the fight.

my bad. it was rojas. i'm just trying to get black to explain how he came up with the conclusion that penalosa's was "luckier" than arce's body punch ko. i too never believed in the lucky punch myth

Saw the fight, very entertaining, foty don't think so, thought that the commentators had it way closer than i did.

Good for Versus to finally show a good fight after the few stinkers involving Tye Fields.

Great fight! I think Montiel underestimated Melendez early on but like a true champ he got off the canvas to win.
