Montiel will stop him in the rematch if it comes off.

gorres is very hard to hit. he just stays in the pocket and before the opponent could unload, he had already ducked and clinched. on the other hand, he could easily land a 1-2 combination or an uppercut to his opponent. he was easily outboxing montiel in the first match before he got tired in the final rounds. montile won by a close decison. i think though he got robbed.

he also outboxed darchinyan silly in their match. he even dropped him with a straight punch. then he got tired again and settled for a draw. i think though darchinyan got robbed.

The problem with Gorres is his hard to maintain boxing style. Those weaving and too much squatting really affects his legs in the later rounds.

Gorres would be stupid NOT to take the Arce fight. People will always tune in to watch Arce, especially HBO execs, and if he really is the pure boxer that his handlers at Golden Boy claim, then he should have a good chance not only to beat El Travieso, but also to make a name for himself for HBO fights down the line with guys like Mijares and Montiel.

Arce fight is a way better option for Z.

Though Arce is weird, he said after the Mijaries fight he wouldnt fight a southpaw again.
Then he fights Rojas and again says he wont fight southpaws again.
Then he fights Lookmahanak and gets a gift. I didnt hear him say he wouldnt fight a southpaw again but its obvious he has a tough time with them and doesnt like versing them especially ones who can box.

Now he wants to take on Gorres?

Gotta respect Montiel for looking at this fight, its obvious Gorres troubled him a lot (though I though Montiel nicked it with his heavier punches and I didnt think Gorres was all that effective) and to want take on someone who is so tricky again shows he isnt afraid to take on challenges.

Id like to see him take on Donaire, that would be a very good fight.

gorres better improve his stamina, skillwise he has a good chance. This is what cost him the fight.
